I did not eat a lot yesterday but last night I was uncomfortably full. So. Today, new plan. I'm going to try to really eat only when I'm hungry and only what I want. Sounds so easy but I know it is not. I've got more than 70 years of conditioning about when and what to eat and most all of it wrong.

Biggie bit me this morning. First time in a really long time BUT, it wasn't a normal Biggie bite, it was a normal cat interaction. I was typing and he wanted my attention. He nipped at my arm. Not even really using teeth. Just trying to get my attention, benignly. It was so normal that it made me laugh. Next time, he will get my attention sooner.

It's not supposed to get Africa hot until tomorrow but I haven't got any reason to go outside and check so I'll be inside today. Cool and comfortable.

I'm really into my current crochet project and I have good TV to watch so that's what I will be doing BUT in order to do that and be able to move at the end of the day, I am going to try my best to get up and move, if only to walk to the front door and back (50 yards?). At least once an hour. One trick will be to drink lots of water/iced tea. It's easy to forget or blow off a reminder - not so easy to forget/blow off having to pee!

The Cuomo thing is amazing. Top of the heap to 6 feet under in 6 months. Wild. I keep wondering to hear what Sandra Lee (the food one, not the pimple one) has to say about all of it.

Hey look who just got up into his cat tree for the first time in forever! And, yes, if you zoom in, you can see that he's basking in 106.7 degrees out there right now in that full sun. Even he didn't stay out there very long.

Cuomo seems like a symptom of the times. Like a sore throat or achy muscles. He's not the virus but just another symptom. Random anger, Trump, fear, alienation, Cuomo. Like if we can cure the virus then the rest will subside.

It is a rather amazing descent.

If it's already over 106ºF, what counts as Africa hot?

I am from Upstate New York and not a Cuomo fan, the only good thing that he has done was pass the declawing cat bill. Kitties will keep their toes in New York.

In the first months of the pandemic I was at my folks' vacation house, living there while my house was being built. They had cable. Cuomo was so inspiring, I looked forward to seeing him.

When I heard of the accusations I wasn't really surprised. It seems that powerful men think they can get away with anything. Showing their dominance over women seems to be a recurrent theme. What the hell? Don't these guys learn from the ruined careers of other men?

Biggie looks so content out there in the sub-tropical weather.

I was so proud to have Cuomo as a governor a year ago. His handling of the pandemic was brilliant and this state went from epicenter to one of the lowest cases in the country. We were a shining example of how to do the pandemic right. That's what breaks my heart about all of this. Why can't the good politicians be good on every level? NY has a terrible track record with governors these days. Eliot Spitzer, a man who cleaned up Wall Street as AG and considered one of the Democratic Party's rising stars, was brought even lower by his sexual escapades.

His excuse was terrible too. He didn't know what was appropriate? Come on! Sexual harassment is a simple case of the Golden Rule. Do unto others. Don't do to a woman what you wouldn't do to a man, or would want a man doing to you. You don't kiss a male colleague on the cheek (at least not in the US), then don't do it to a female colleague. Don't hug or give back rubs to a female colleague if you wouldn't do so to your male boss. If you don't want men touching your junk, then don't grab women by the p****y. It's not rocket science!

Can't believe your weather! August has been so cool in NY and today it's supposed to be above 90 for the first time since July . The world has surely gone mad!
