Another morning of no air conditioning and if the forecast is to be believed, the rest of this week is the same. Free cool air. It's still hot at night so I turn it on to sleep but, it's rather lovely to have the door open and hear the sounds of the city again.

Today, hopefully, Amazon will deliver some new shelves that will go here, next to my TV/computer chair so that I can at least hide all this clutter but still have stuff I want within arm's reach. Since I really want to get those shelves here and put together and installed, I'm sure it will be one of those days when Amazon delivers late. So I'm not holding my breath. Tomorrow will be fine.

I want to make some scones - ham and cheese scones. I have enough ingredients here to at least do a trial batch.

And laundry! All of my favorite clothes are dirty. I have alsorans and insurance clothes but no reason not to clean the favorites and get them back into circulation. It's going to be multiple loads. And lots of steps. Fitbit will be happy.

But first a shower.

That looks like an excellent recipe for scones. Not that I need more of that kind of stuff but at least it's not making a dozen. I think I need to buy some horseradish first though and scallions.

I've seen that with other recipes. No idea where it comes from but it is a bit of genius.

Yeah, baking without making a mess definitely takes practice. My goal is to always leave the kitchen at least as clean as when I started by cleaning as I go. It even works sometimes.

Yeah, the cream will definitely change the chemistry. I think you've got it.

I've never had a savory scone in my life. I LOVE cranberry and orange scones with sugar sprinkled on top. But I'm ready to try one.

I've been thinking about making a small batch (4) biscuit recipe and rolling up cheese and sausage (normal sausage cut into an appropriate shape to fit). Kind of a pig in a bun but with taste. Sharpest cheese I can find and I've got some great sausage from Iowa I get. The cheese and sausage would go well in this too.

Are fruit scones with jam and clotted cream even remotely a thing in the USA?
