SUCCESS!!!

I made a batch of scones. I used a recipe for ham and cheese but used olives instead of ham and made a bunch of mistakes. Plus I made a huge honkin' mess.

The results were way too crumbly (dry) and the olives weren't a great idea anyway. I finally got the kitchen cleaned up.

My shelf has not even been 'shipped' yet. It ain't getting here any time soon so while I was still doing laundry, I did another batch of scones.

This time I did not make the same mistakes and I cleaned up as I went. And, my brother gave me a suggestion... sausage!!

So now I have delicious cheese and sausage scones.

I used this recipe but skipped the whole horseradish bit.

I did use Gruyere cheese but I think next time it will be cheddar. And, as much as I love onions, these green onions aren't necessary and I think it would be better without. But, these are good. Really good.

Yeah, different kind of spicy but I like horse radish and think it would be interesting in something like this.

They do seem like they would be better with sausage instead of olives. Good idea, brother.

Haha, I was making something similar today too. I did a batch of the bakery's bacon, cheddar, and chive biscuits. Makes 45 of them. Maybe a bit much for you:b What we do is mix and shape the biscuits, then freeze them unbaked. Then just bake them off as needed. That way we only have to make them once every week and a half.

or use one of the million apps to have them brought to you. My boss has gone full in on the surveillance capitalism industry. We have all these tablets from places like Uber Eats and Grubhub dinging at us all the time.

Call ahead though to make sure a barista sets one aside for you. That would be a bummer if you show up and they're sold out.

They look delish! I can't decide whether the recipe is a terrific idea (because you end up with only four scones) or a really bad idea (because you end up with only four scones).
