Ok so this easy back stand mixer was designed EXACTLY FOR ME!!!! It's so cute and so easy and so well designed. The bowl is really nice and deep. The beaters go in snugly (almost too snugly, I had a hard time ejecting them). The bowl goes side to side and around so you can get everything easily. Oh and the suction cups on the bottom WORK! And it fits perfectly in my space on my shelf. It's a keeper.

This is the buttercream-ish frosting from this frosted cookie recipe.



It's a winner. The cookie recipe does not sound that good but this icing is delish. Now I need to bake a cake! My cake pans come on Sunday. But, I already have good/big muffin/cupcake molds... or cookies... stay tuned!!

But, I am now out of powdered sugar...

I found this photo I forgot about yesterday. You know how grocery stores have those mini carts for kids? One or two and they are usually broken. Amazon Fresh has a bunch and they line them all up just like the adult ones. This cracked me up. Much as I hate to shop with little ones under my feet, I gotta give it to Amazon for this one. Nice nod to the short peops. If they had had these when I was 5, this would have been my second favorite grocery store ever.



My favorite was Grandma's grocery. It had a little booth at the front of the store where you could go in and watch cartoons with all the other kids while Grandma shopped. I LOVED that.

BTW, when I made the last batch of chocolate chip cookies I did not bake any of them but cut up the batter into squares and froze it. So we have one or two cookies each after dinner. I just put the frozen bricks in the oven at 240 or so and let them cook for 15 minutes then just sit while we eat. They are just perfect when we are ready. And I'm not tempted to eat more than my share.

You got me falling down the mixer rabbit hole. I looked at your mixer, but didn't like the double dough hooks. I prefer the larger single ones, but then I found the mixer I want. AND it's pink!! I am not going to buy it. Not until I get rid of my food processor I never use.

I need a pink mixer. I used to think I wanted a red mixer, but that was before I knew pink mixer existed. If you're desperate for powdered sugar, I believe you can make it from ordinary sugar in a blender although I've never tried it. It of course you could just get Amazon to send a drone to drop some in the Tree You Hate and send Biggie out to retrieve it:).

I would have totally loved getting to sit in a booth and watch cartoons while my mom grocery shopped! But she wouldn't have been willing to let me out of her sight for that long.

The Lidl store that opened near me has kid’s shopping carts like those.

I like those carts for kids. It means that instead of running round screaming at high speed while the parents largely ignore them, the little darlings tend to follow the parent(s) and play the shopping game. They also slow the kids down somewhat.

As a grumpy old man, I appreciate the small wins.

One of my friends was making cookies with buttercream icing similar to that recipe. I was with him. He’s asking me about the icing:

Him: “But do you think people will like this?”
Me: “There’s five cups of sugar and two sticks of butter in that. Of course they’re going to like it.”
