I had several items on my grocery list. Amazon Fresh didn't have them. Amazon Fresh delivery didn't have them. The nice little market nearby didn't have them. Safeway probably does but do I want to chance shopping there? Their mask policy is pretty much Make Sure You Have Some Fabric Near Your Face, Kinda. For both shoppers and staff.

And then I remembered how we did it in the olden days, back during the pandemic Delivery!! Yep. Safeway has now, finally, fixed their delivery game. $4. And they will bring it to me. Sold. They are bring it all to me this afternoon.

I was also going to go to Costco today but, again, chickened out. I do need some stuff and I have prescriptions to pick up. Their next old people's early shopping day is Tuesday so I might go then. They have flu shots but they don't start them till 11 so I might just snag a flu shot appointment, get my prescriptions and do my shopping all in one swoop. At least they are rabid about masks always on, always covering nose and mouth.

Also on Twitter this morning are the rising numbers of COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths. We are close to topping the pre-vaccine spikes. Just lovely.

My feet are astoundingly better. I gooped them up before I went to sleep and covered them with socks. I thought the socks would drive me crazy. I hate shit on my feet. But, it was fine and my bed says I bested my previous best night's sleep ever - 95! I guess I'll learn to love socks. Small price to pay. I did take them off and put on my soft sandals for the treadmill this morning. Worked fine. So yeah.

The baseball is back in Seattle tonight so 7 pm. Apparently, I am not the only one who is passing on this home stand. I keep getting emails for lower and lower ticket prices. Pretty soon they will be paying for people to come. Now if they would just require proof of vaccine. Not fool proof but better.

It's trying to rain. Failing here so far but [livejournal.com profile] seattlejo reported puddles this morning at her house just south of here. That would be so lovely.

Yeah, they are importing federal morgue trailers just north and south of us. But we've got personal freedom!

As a (deeply embarrassed) Texan, but I promise that not all of us Texans are dimwits about getting vaccinated and masking up (just entirely too many, especially judging by our COVID-19 stats).

I propose that if a new variant comes out of Texas, we call it the Abbott variant after our clearly disease-loving governor (who's been fighting tooth and nail to ban vaccine AND mask mandates because he's more worried about keeping his base happy than keeping his constituents alive. ;-_-
