All of a sudden I'm spending money like it's running out of the kitchen tap. Hot Cold and Cash.

A few winters ago, I got some Skeechers ankle boots that were outstanding. I wore them every day for 3 winters straight until the died. I cursed myself a million times for not buying a backup pair. A week or so ago, I found a very similar pair (SKECHERS
Easy Going - Buried Treasure) on Zappos. The first try arrived and were too small so I reordered. The second try came today and they are very nearly perfect. Perfect enough that I just went right back to Zappos and ordered another pair just like 'em. I also ordered a pair of Propet Madi Ankle Strap. But their shoes have such a weird fit. I had to send them back an reorder a larger size but I have my doubts even the larger size will work. Thankfully, Zappos makes it easy.

I went to Amazon Fresh to return an item and spent $20. Yep. They have my number. Then I went on to Safeway and spent $4. The Safeway trip was to test out my GPay which failed the other day. I wanted to make sure it wasn't broken (and Amazon Fresh does not do GPay or Apple Pay). It wasn't broken.

Plus, I can't quit ordering shit on Amazon.

In another month I'm going to be shelling out a truck load o' cash on a new phone. I need to save some to fill the truck!

I got an email today that the Emergency Vets is no longer going to be doing surgeries. This is where Biggie went for two of his three surgeries. I don't love them but I was sure grateful they were there. My own vets were not high on the alternatives. He seems to have grown out of his eating stuff he shouldn't (I hope hope hope) so hopefully we'll never need the surgery that they no longer do. Vets are having quite the time. Last month my own vets sent out a letter saying they were short staffed, couldn't find staff and so would be curtailing their hours substantially and begging for understanding. Here's hoping Biggie stays mega healthy!

The vet world is crazy right now. Absolutely crazy. Our cat had a critical emergency: his bladder almost ruptured — turns out he had a severe kidney infection and all his conditions were/are kind of snowballing. This was his bid to rival Biggie in the vet bill department and he went HUGE plus came home with an unflattering bikini wax to boot. I was told not to go to our nearest emergency vet hospital but instead to either drive to one 2 hours away or one 45 minutes away and hope they could take him. I was SUPER lucky the latter was able to accept him and get him on the mend.

Routine appointments you have to plan months out for. Getting this cat in for his follow ups is only possible because I am extremely fortunate to have a very flexible schedule due to husband being able to work from home. The poor guy is still up and down health wise but nothing nearly so catastrophic as that event and I am getting a crash course in being a veterinary nurse just to avoid repeating the visit.

I am going to make the call that my guy has taken it upon himself to have everyone else's emergencies for a while and that's his great public service. All other felines may carry on in good health for 6+ months until they draw whoever's turn it is next to be The Big Emergency Visit. Hopefully our boys will not be returned to the drawing pool due to services rendered but we'll see.

This is him after he came home. He went to his table and flopped down. In this picture he was actually snoring. Here's hoping his antics continue apace as he remains as manageable as he now is.

I love it so much that you did the modesty scribble to cover his male-bits, lol.

Dang. We're all having that short staffing issue. It's bad.

Amazon is very sly. They give freebies to Prime Members (digital books) to keep us coming back to spend, spend, spend...

That is a nice looking recliner at Amazon (earlier post, lol). I am probably wrong, but I think 'art deco' when I look at it and I love that blue. I hope that you liked it and I look forward to catching up on your posts to learn how it worked out for you.

My daughter works reception at a veterinary practice. Combined with the fact that management/owners are not kind people, these shortages have made my daughters work life quite awful.
