Bird Spikes

amw suggested I install bird spikes. It's technically an HOA violation, of course, but I think I could get by with it as long as they were easily removable. Amazon, of course, has perfect options. A little tape and a few zip ties and I think it would work fine. It won't stop the stupid shits from flying into the window, probably, but it may well put an end to the Biggie harassment.

I'm not going to do it yet. I'm hoping the leaves will be off the tree and the birds will have moved on soon and the issues won't be an Issue until next Spring. But, if I'm wrong... Amazon will deliver tomorrow. Read, that you stupid birds.

Biggie slept in his closet last night. He tucks himself into this corner. When I pull back the curtain, which is the door, he meows hello. If I sit on the floor he comes out for some rubs. This morning I said 'hi' about 6:30 and got a good morning meow back.

Then at 8, I went back to check and see if he needed medicine. I sat on the floor and we discussed it. We decided no, not really. Then I dished out some breakfast and brought him to it in the living room where he happily cleaned out the dish and then crawled into my lap. Now he's watching for birds but they aren't around. Maybe there's a staff meeting.



For the past few years, I have gotten Thanksgiving Dinner For Two from a local market. It's $100 which is too much but it really is delicious and not something I would replicate. Plus there is plenty for multiple meals and sandwiches. I kind of thought I wouldn't do it this year. Because, really, it's too expensive. But, just made my reservation. I can still back out but at least I've got it if I decide to do it again.

Today's project is to clean out the freezer and reorganize it. And then, probably a trip to the grocery. I am thinking cake but I need icing ingredients. Plans could change.

I think for a bit, I'll just enjoy Biggie in my lap.

Is it possible to screen in your balcony? Like run the screen from the edge of the balcony up to the roof over it? I'm guessing that's a HOA violation, dang it. Personally, I plan to move to a condo when I get settled in DC, and I'm hoping to find one with that kind of screen, so that the cats can hang out in the fresh air. I know they'd love it.

Another good idea you might want to try is a garden Owl or Hawk, we use them in the garden to keep crows out. You can get them on Amazon.

I hope the HOA doesn't try to crack down on the spikes. I love how Biggie says hello every morning!

You know, I've always made Thanksgiving dinner myself, but this year I'm really thinking about doing one of those meals. They're expensive, definitely, but it's once a year. I need to find out where I can get one around here, thank you for mentioning it.

We might be hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year. Some stuff we'll probably make (the slow cooker is good for a turkey breast) but I'm definitely looking into somewhere that will make all the sides so we don't have to kill ourselves with all that cooking on the day of.

It took my board of trustees at my townhouse complex 16 years to approve cat containment for the gardens, as long as it's installed in a way that can be taken down without damaging the structures. That one single thing has probably added 20 years to my life, not worrying anymore that my two can go roaming the streets. I hope you get a solution that will give you peace of mind while not making Biggie grumpy!

It doesn't matter. Do it. If it is good food, it will freeze and it will be worth it.

Yep met market is the one! I went there at first because the others had dinners for 4 or 6. The met was the only one who had dinner for two. But I keep going back because it's delicious and so easy.
