Stuck Like Glue

Biggie, that is. He's been glued to me since he got home yesterday. It will be interesting to see what he does when I take a shower. He seems to get where he wants to go on his new 'legs'. And lordknows they are way better than those heavy casts when he whips one my way.

I have taken to typing up notes about how he's doing, how much medicine I gave him and any question and tucking it into his carrier. Yesterday's note included "This week's shenanigans included his hopping up on the dining table and eating my mashed potatoes." (Which is true. He all of a sudden loves licking my plate and eating my leftovers.)

The office sends my receipt and care notes via email after each visit. Last night's care note included (Almond Joy is his official name. Biggie is a nickname):

"Almond Joy continues to improve, likely due to his supplemental diet of mashed potatoes."

I love Dr. Moore. She also told me on the phone yesterday that next week, we'll go to the same office again. "But, in two weeks I'll be back at White Center so... More Popeye's!!"

I got my invoice for next season's Mariner ticket. $5,900 (20 games + all of the luxuries of the Diamond Club - free dinner and snacks and drinks and in seat service and fabulous seats). Happily, I had a $4,400 credit on my tab so I only had to pay $1,500. But now I am all set and even have my list o' games. First one is Saturday, April 2!

I'm on rabid FedEx watch today. Right now it shows my phone is not yet on the delivery truck. I need to steel myself for a possible delay until tomorrow. I can do it.

The wind has died down for now. There were not nearly as many leaves on the terrace this morning. But they are rapidly abandoning The Tree That I Hate and soon I'll be able to reconnect with my neighbors across the street.

As long as you've had Biggie I don't think I ever knew his official name is Almond Joy. Too funny! I see Biggie is in leopard print now, so stylish.

The shelter where he was born (in Arizona) named him Almond Joy. And his brother (The Smalls) was named Mars Bar. I thought the names were just adorable but Biggie and The Smalls just became a thing.

This reminds me of the Sylvia comic strip where the cat bribes the vet into lying to her human: "Your cat must have a diet of Popeye's chicken or she'll die."

I send notes to Loki's vet that always have a line like "he's still angry about his waxing services during his last visit" and it has made me notorious amongst the tech staff. They've been so overwhelmed and underappreciated lately that I am grateful to do anything to make their day/night a little brighter. I imagine Biggie's feasting antics are doing the same for the staff out there!

Also my family is invested in the Biggie Saga. I pass along updates on his thundersticks after his spa days and we're all rooting for him to be back to as close to 100% as can be expected after experimentations with flight.

I love that so many are following along. I really do.

His new 'thunder sticks' which are really more of a light rumble stick are really good and he seems to be very happy with them. I know I am. He did not hit me once last night.
