I do love tangerines of all kinds. And I was delighted to see the cuties in the store yesterday so, of course, I got some. What I got turned out to be $4.50 worth of orange balls who's only good will be as garbage disposal cleaner/deodorizer. They are impossible to peel and if/when you get the damn skin off they are hard and sour. Oh well, my garbage disposal will love them. Seems like I did this same thing last year.

Biggie's still making good progress every day. This morning he got up and out of bed on his own while I was on the treadmill. He came in and had some breakfast and some lap time and then went to the couch where he's now curled up in his cat bed. He came out a bit ago when the daylight first appeared and studied the tree/birds for a while and then went back for another nap.

I spent some time on the phone with Capital One credit cards today because their stupid fucking app would not verify my card for Google Pay. Their app and process sucks but at least their support staff is reasonable and escalation happens quickly and respectfully. It's done now. But, I need to check it to make sure it works.

As it happens, I'll be able to do that this morning. I'm off to Trader Joe's. And Safeway. I need some canned Fancy Feast chicken. These petites are just a bitch to open. I keep cutting my fingers on the tin foil. Gimme a can with a ring, plz. But, I need to make sure His Highness will eat the stuff before I order up a bunch. That's at Safeway. The Trader Joe's bit is for me. Happily, they are only a block apart.

OHHHH I just got a spam call. My phone rang and gave me the option of screening the call. I selected it and then I saw the script it was reading to the caller to identify, plz. Then I saw a transcript of what the caller was saying - that my car warranty had expired... I hit the 'spam' button and poof. Back to the home screen. Nice. Very nice. Google phones have had this whole process for a while but I have rarely been able to get it to work on my phones. I quit trying. But maybe this phone is really different. I know reporting a spam call likely does nothing but it is satisfying.

Biggie cannot quite get into his bed of choice (the flowered one to the right in the photo) with his paws wrapped. Well, he can get in but then falls over. So Last night I got out his old ball which he crawled right into but every time he moves, it kind of falls over.

I've ordered him a couple of other ones to try out. They should be here today. He'll probably hate them and I'll send them back. Thank you, Amazon.

Ok, time to hit the road, Jack.

I've got a bag of mandarin oranges that have the same problem. January through April is the time to get oranges, I think. We're in the dead zone now.

My phone screener has worked as you describe for a long time. Glad you have it now. It is really fun. Every now and again I get someone I wanted to talk to. Especially with this medical stuff going on I've got people calling. It is nice to have them screened.

My Pixel just asked me if I wanted to download Android 12 so I guess my security will be going up.

I find shifting the phone to driving mode disorients me distracts me and makes it far more dangerous for me. Not a fan either. But it just seems to return. Fortunately I don't drive very much so it doesn't matter.

Tangerine disappointment, that's too bad.

The spam screening sounds great! I didn't know phones do that now. Well, I have an iPhone, but I hadn't heard of it in general.

Biggie and the bed woes, poor kitty. How long will he have the bandages?

[livejournal.com profile] hopefulspirit — On an iPhone you can send any calls from numbers not in your contacts list directly to voicemail. Settings> Phone> Silence Unknown Callers. Your doc's office is happy to leave a message.

I get those "your car warranty has expired" calls all the time. I don't even have a car.

I see a lot of people over the pond talking about car warranty expiring, is this a big thing? It's not something you'd get a call about here
