The baking lab will be open for biz today

In my maybe never ending battle to find the right cake configuration for me, I ordered shallow cake pans and they arrived this morning. I have no idea how much batter goes into each pan and google can't find it for me. So, I think today, I'll make a cake and figure it out - trial and error.

This morning, I got a wild hair to see if I could get my microwave cleaner than the house cleaner did. OH yeah baby! I have the grime removal touch!! I boiled vinegar in there a couple of ties and then hit it with my Mr. Clean spray and got all up in there scrubbing and I did a MUCH better job that she ever did. Go me! (Also I added a weekly cleaning to the chore chart.)

Sometime in the middle of the night a cat who's name I will not reveal, got up, had a little snack (leftovers from his dinner) and then proceeded to pull out the drawers in the hall storage unit and dump one on the floor. I believe those broken paws are healed.

This morning, he's trying hard to find something to get into trouble with. BUT, when I went out on the terrace to get something, he did not even think about making a move out there. And, he's still very snuggly.

This is our first Monday in a month that we have not spent at the vet. It's lovely. We have no plans and no where we have to be. We have food and there will be cake. Our life is good. And the birds are not taunting us.

I find that over time house cleaners tend to slack off a bit at a time, like they're losing inspiration. I hope this doesn't sound elitist. One thing I can say for sure is that my standards definitely don't get higher at all so I am convinced from my experiences that the effort often declines a smidge or more.

I feel the same kind of elitist-itis but now that I'm done with her, not so much. And you are right. Stuff not dusted. trash cans missed. Etc. All making my decision seem even better. Plus I'm digging my chore chart. And my clean mircowave!
