A lot of nothing, now I need a rest
Nov. 8th, 2021 02:13 pmI had nothing on tap for today. But, now it's nearly 2 and I've been going non stop so far. My neighbor sent me a note that she needed a notary. This is the same neighbor who helped me with the cat tree so I was delighted to return the favor. So I hurried to clean up Biggie's drawer mess and wash and dry and put away the dishes in the kitchen and the yarn on the table and some amazon deliveries. Then she sent another note saying she read the detail and learned the signatures do not have to be notarized after all.
At least my house was tidy! So I decided to try out my new cake pans. They actually worked out better than I thought.
150g batter in each. 12 mins at 350 degrees. This was 1/2 box mix tweaked with cream and butter. I could have made 4 layers but this time I went with 3 layers and two large cupcakes.
My batter really needed to be less thick so I could even out the layers. But, whatever.

They stacked up fine.

And frosted fine.

And tasted great!

Then I decided that my back up car phone situation really wasn't going to work but that my 6Pro was dual sim so why not switch my MintMobile to an esim and then pop in the Twigby sim. One phone on both Verizon and T-Mobile networks for a flat $20 a month. I'll take that. Worked great until the MintMobile esim didn't work. Chat revealed that "we've had problems with the Pixel 6 and esims". And their service had already canceled my regular sim. Nice. Oh well. He's sending me a replacement sim overnight. And then I went to Reddit and see that many others had tried this before me and failed. Not at all clear why I didn't go to reddit first. Ugh.
Oh well.
Oh and i also got a new phone holder for the car that also charges it wirelessly so I installed that. It actually works better than the Google wireless charging stand here in the house.
Biggie is trying to get into trouble. I think it's time for a little kitty diversion.

Date: 2021-11-08 11:23 pm (UTC)I've wondered about silicone cake pans, if they work well or if they're hard to handle or lose shape. Looks like they worked great!
