Today's been full of it. I left home, hoping to glide smoothly along the waterfront road to the other side of downtown. That smooth gliding did not last 1 block. Construction and ferry traffic. Oh well. It's not like Whole Foods is holding a shopping time open just for me.

I finally got there to discover they had NO fucking fresh squeezed orange juice. This is the one place that always has it. But, apparently not. They did have the pulpy 365 which is my second favorite. And they had enough other stuff so that it wasn't a total waste. Then next door to Petco to get some more Biggie squirt treats. Clearly dogs count and cats don't. Their cat food/treat shelves where not only semi bare, they were strewn with brands all mixed up and empty boxes. I've never liked that store and anyway.

Then I thought, I am very near [livejournal.com profile] meowmensteen's Petite Pierre. I should go check it out and treat myself. Except then Google made me miss the turn to the bridge and I decided that was a sign that it was the wrong day to Pierre it.

I planned my trip home to avoid the construction and totally failed.

I got home and unloaded the groceries and poured a cup of the 365 juice and you know what? I think I like it every bit as much as the other stuff! The fresh squeezed is $13. The 365 is $4. The fresh is really hard to find. The 356 is even available at my little Amazon Fresh store not far from here. Ok. I'm sold.

Biggie has been a mess today. He wants to be in my lap, then bites me. He disappears and then I see he has not only pulled down some fabric from the shelves, he's sitting on top of his loot with a 'so now what are you going to do, old lady???' look on his face.

Then I'm in the kitchen cleaning up and he needs to be informed of my every movement and then he disappears again. I look up and he's in the cat bed!!

That bed has not been used by a cat in many cats. I finally slung it up there because while I love it, there was really no other good storage option at the time. I hate to think of the level of dust in there.

Guess I'll drag it down and clean it up when he's finished. Today.

The laundry is nearly done. The kitchen is clean. The bulk sausage I bought is cooked into crumbles.

I think I'll fold and put away the clean clothes and then take the rest of the day off. I want some more ginger cookies but tomorrow might be the best time for that.

I think the gods were looking out for you. Saturday is probably the worst day to stop by the bakery. We usually have lines around the corner. Weekdays after the initial 8am rush and before the lunch rush is the best time to visit. Today was pretty busy, and I was beat. I couldn't keep up with the demand. Sometimes I wish I could know ahead of time how much pastry to bake. It's always a guess. Fortunately we started using this To Good To Go app. We put all our day old pastry into bags and tell the app how many bags there are, and people buy them up without even knowing what's in the bag. Personally, I prefer my pastry fresh, but some people can't resist a "good deal".

I love that set of pictures of Biggie in the bed haha.

It's too bad you didn't have a camera set up to record how that little devil got into that bed way up there. He continues to amaze me.

For a cat that lost at least a couple of his nine lives a month or so ago, he moves like lightning on four legs. And yes, :^), I do read your journal and know of the cameras around your condo. I was just surprised that you didn't show him getting up there. Thanks for the link!

You're brave. I haven't been bold enough for Seattle Traffic since before the pandemic. Even when I went to Mariner games, it was always on a Sunday.

Maybe he likes the bed because it is up there where he can survey his kingdom

We can go to Petite Pierre anytime you like. That is by far the most delicious picture of a croissant I've ever seen. Maybe we can just buy the picture.

I think you should leave the cat bed up there. Biggie enjoys surveying his domain from there!

He is pretty fast though. Hard to believe just a month ago...
