Almost a PH Handshake

I tried a different ginger cookie recipe and I think it is now my GOTO one. Next time, I will add a little nutmeg and use dark brown sugar (I only had light brown). But I am very happy with these. Just what I was looking for. Not cake but cookie. It does not have snap, per se, but the edges are crisp and the center a little soft. Most importantly, what you cut is what you get. If you want cookies to decorate, these are they.

I wish I had a little gingerbread cookie cutter. But I just cut to see what they would do. The ones closer to the camera are unbaked the other ones are done (note the missing 'test' cookies).

Also next time I think I'll roll some out extra thin and cook them for 5 instead of 10 mins.

By a gingerbread cookie cutter, are you meaning a gingerbread man, boy, woman or girl cookie cutter? Don't most supermarkets ( and some of the drug store chains, like Rite Aid), carry things like cookie cutters in the baking supplies area in the supermarket or wherever they have "sundries" in either the supermarket or the drug store? Or, for that matter, doesn't Trader Joe's have a section for seasonal products, including non-comestibles?

yes, i meant some kind of traditional ginger cookie like gingerbread man and yes, i suspect most supermarkets do carry. i just didn't have one on hand to use today.

And I'd meant, why not acquire one, if it pleases you to have traditionally shaped gingerbread cookies?
