Heavy lifting

So the used oven I got was broken. I got the replacement today after much heavy lifting and wrestling the old one into the box and the new one onto the counter.

And as I was unpacking it, I happened to check on the fine print in the back. They sent me the wrong damn model!!! The box had the right one but the oven had the wrong one.

Back to Amazon return/replace. I wrestled the old one of of the double box it was in so I could put the new one in one of those boxes and right in the middle of all that shit, I stopped.

And asked Google what the difference is between the two models. The DT200 has 8 modes and is cheaper. The DT201 (the one I want and the one I ordered) has 10 modes. The one I got that says DT200 has 10 modes. WTF??? So I decided to stop and surrender.

I went back to Amazon Chat and canceled the second return/replace and the nice lady gave me $30 credit for my pain. Which was nice. The oven is running fine right now - you run it empty to burn off stuff. And I'm whipped. At least I'm done. UPS will come get the first oven and the broken cat tree tomorrow.

Whew.

I did make a successful grocery run and had lovely steak and frites with hollandaise (the last of the Trader Joe's hollandaise that I've had in my freezer). I saw a PBS cooking show lady cook steak on the stovetop that came out perfectly. I did what she did and mine came out perfectly, too!! golden crusty on the outside and perfect on the inside. I used frozen air fried fries that also came out fine. And I have enough to repeat tomorrow!

Oh and I also did all the laundry.

So far. Good day. I think the evening will be crochet and TV/radio.

That confusion over which model has which characteristics is kind of frustrating, even if in your case it doesn't actually make a whole lot of difference.

A few years ago we noticed that the little lever on the underside of the filter basket of our (now rather ancient) Braun coffee-maker was broken, which led us to wonder if the part was still available (we know the carafe is). jwg found a filter basket online that claimed to be the right one for our model. and ordered it. Turns out it's a different height, and not compatible. However, the old one seems to work fine even with the "broken" part.

So reading your last post made me want steak and fries and I decided that I'll resist because of my cruise diet. But you've mentioned it again.

And there's a good chance you'll mention it tomorrow too, especially if perfection is achieved again.

I'm not going anywhere, God willing and the creek don't rise, so it looks like there's steak and fries in my near future!

I'll just have to do some walking myself to burn it off, I suppose. Notice that I never whine about your walks--clearly I am not as susceptible to the temptation of following you in that regard!
