Settling In
Dec. 12th, 2021 03:49 pmHe's still all over the place. Birds are his main attraction but he's still wandering around sniffing everything and looking at everything.
He didn't eat much at the vets so they were interested in my making sure he got food. So far he's scarfed up 3.5 containers of Fancy Feast Petites. I switched over to pate for the last one and, I suspect, that's why there is half left. It's not his fav.
I got all his medicine out and made notes. 1/2 pill on one kind at 6 - once a day. 1 whole pill on another kind at 6 and then two more times a day and a syringe full of something else. At 6 and then three times a day. This is really just for the first two days and then it's as needed.
The next major issue will be stitches out. 10-14 days which falls smack dab in the middle of Christmas. I could take him back to the hospital and let them do it but damn I hate that drive. I think I'm going to send his regular vet clinic a note and explain the problem and get their advice.
Total bill was $6026. I saved $45 by providing the lion head cone and $135 by saving the painkillers he didn't need from before so whew? But then the pre-hospital bill from the local vet was $320. I could easily go back and tally up all of Biggie's vet bills just to see but denial is a lovely place and I think I'll stay there.
I think I have the phone problem sorted. Not perfectly but if someone tries to call at least now they won't get hung up on and can leave a voice mail.
Now I wouldn't mind a day or two of no drama.
But, I am glad to have his royal highness walking across the keyboard again. Oh he did finally let me get a semi decent shot of his tummy.
