DONE!

temperatureblanket

January starts on the bottom right so December is top left. The navy squares designate month change.

The outside color of each square is the high temperature in Seattle on that day. The inside color is the low temperature.

I used Stylecraft Special DK yarn and here's the range/colors.

90+ Boysenberry
89-86 Magenta
85-82 Fuchsia
81-77 Pomegranate
76-73 Shrimp
72-69 Spice
68-65 Saffron
64-61 Dandelion
60-57 Apple
56-53 Pistachio
52-49 Sage
48-45 Storm Blue
44-41 Aster
40-37 Bluebell
36-33 Lavender
33- Violet

That is beautiful! It is also a unique historical record of Seattle's weather. Great job!!!

Just one small observation: the math is off by 2.

days in year: 365
navy blue months: 11
Total: 376

The afghan is 18 by 21 squares. 18 x 21 = 378

How did you make up the difference? I am just curious. I love the afghan!

I love the effect that you get, with the warm colors in the center and cool colors on the sides.

Love it! It would be interesting to compare ones made in different areas, or year to year.

What a cool concept for an afghan, not to mention that it's really pretty. Do one every year (ha) to visually compare and track Global Warming!

The piece is great. I note that, in that list of colors, quite a few of the names give me no clue what color they're supposed to indicate. (Spice? Apple? Shrimp?)

That is the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Bar none. Did you come up with that concept yourself? Figure out which yarn would represent which temperature? I'm sorry if these are silly questions.... I don't know anything about yarnwork.

I love this so much! I like how you used two different colors for each square for the high and low. I've seen many that only go with the high or low, but not both. The colors are bright and fun, fantastic job! Will you do one for this year?
