Costco Day

Costco has Old People Hour this morning and I'm out of bacon and I need steps. A match made on cement floors. I might also get some meatloaf. Maybe.

I'm now officially over Wordle. Lifehacker published a how-to story. I believe that is the very definition of Jumped The Shark.

The New York Times is buying The Athletic and that pisses me off. I got a $1 a month subscription to The Athletic this year and have enjoyed it even in the baseball off season while the strike has put the kibosh on all baseball news. Oh well.

I am out of royal icing and nearly out of ginger cookies, so there will be some baking done, soon. I keep thinking I'm going to get tired of these ginger cookies but not so far. I do like them a little better with the icing.

Time now to get Costco ready.

Boy, I get one Wordle right and it jumps the shark. Story of my life. I've got a certificate for 20 shares of Cisco at its absolute peak in 2000. I think my grandchildren's children might make a few bucks on it.

Speaking of books, on your earlier recommendation, I read Cold Granite by Stuart MacBride. It was gory but good. Think I'll pick up the next in the series...

Cool. Yes, I'm now fully hooked into him. I love having goto authors who have books already written!

Additionally, I like them to be youngish, so I can count on them for many more books. It was melancholy, loving P. D. James' books, knowing she wouldn't be writing any more.

We love The Equalizer! I enjoyed the original version, too.

We are currently binge-watching Stargate:SG-1 hoping to finish before it goes off of Netflix. It was supposed to leave Netflix 12/31. Shh . . . don't tell them ;)

Out of bacon, that's tragic. The last time I was at Costco I got a 4-pack. I want to try the pre-cooked stuff, I keep forgetting to look for it.

I'm team pre-cooked all the way. but, man, is it ever getting pricey! (It's right next to the non pre-cooked). I put the package as it is into the freezer and, when it's frozen, I then take it out of the packaging and put all the slices in a baggie back into the fridge. Then I can easily grab 1 or 4 slices depending on what I want. I'll pay any price!!
