The Seahawks are done playing in the stadium across the street until next year so all Sundays for a long while will be nice and quiet like today. But also, it's a little too chilly to have the door to the terrace open so it's doubly quiet.

When the sun is out in the morning, it gets right into my eyes and I have to lower the blinds. Today is the first day I have had to do that since way before Christmas. Wild.

I got all caught up with Jeopardy and Amy this morning while on the treadmill. So now I can also get caught up with her twitter and all of the media about her. Whew. Such great fun.

Today I start my 2022 scarf. I decided to do the catch up knitting every Sunday. I'll get the temperatures and then knit up the previous 7 days. Every Sunday. I have the yarn ready and even knit a small version to make sure my premise would work. I like the plan.

I forgot to get potato chips yesterday. Dagnabit.

Lots of TV fits and starts yesterday. I tried and abandoned:

Under the Vines - Acorn
Bang - Acorn
The Cleaning Lady - Fox

I watched all of the premiere of Good Sam on CBS but it's going to have to improve by leaps and bounds for me to watch all of the second episode. I also watched FBI International. (SPOILER-ish - the dog is the only good thing about that show. They let him die and I'm out.)

There's a new Vera out today. I've missed her.

I'm still enjoying The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. I generally only listen to books at night before I go to sleep but this one I've fired up a couple of times during the days while I crochet. It's just a good story.

She is great at good stories, usually. I've only read one of her books that disappointed me.

I LIKED Matt Amodio, I thought he was a great champ but I think Amy is spectacular. I do wish KJ would stop salivating over her. Yes, I still mix Alex and I wish Mayim would come back soon.

I recorded the first episode of The Cleaning Lady but haven't watched it yet. What was it that caused you to give up on it?

Not too cynical — there's too much good stuff to watch to waste time on things that don't appeal as much! I've got so much backlogged stuff, I likely won't bother with that one based on your comments. I too really hate shows that have lots of scenes in the dark. So frustrating.

I haven't been really following much of Jeopardy this year. I did hear about the girl from time to time.

What happens to the stadium during the off season? Do others use it?

The way the sun rises here it blinds me in the afternoon in the Livingroom

There are only a few shows I watch on network TV and I mostly watch the marathons of those same shows on Ion and Sundance, ParamountTV etc.

So are you fully on board with Team Amy? My husband is getting annoyed with her. He thinks she is smug and is tired of the way she seems to dominate the game and runs away with every category. It's true. She is incredibly strategic and quick on her feet. But what is she supposed to do? Throw the game to let someone else win? If Hubs had the ability to keep winning on Jeopardy, he would do it too!

We neglected to record the pilot of "The Good Sam", but we're set up to watch it this week. From the little I know about it, I'm skeptical, but I know how this is going to go: After we watch it once, I'll be even more skeptical, [livejournal.com profile] jwg will say "Let's give it another week", and pretty soon we'll be hooked.

I wish our local PBS station would start showing "Vera" again.
