Springtime?
Jan. 12th, 2022 09:36 amIt is 54 degrees out at 8 am! WTF??? I have the door to the terrace open so this morning Biggie is full o' birds. He can hear 'em and see 'em. He's behind the curtain now (so they won't see him) where's he's been now for an hour.
Summer is going to be interesting. At least he's not trying to get out. Or whining about it.
Last night I was listening to my book. The App said I had 1 hour and 40 mins to go. But the story ended an hour later. I hate that so much. There was some kind of publisher interview at the end. No mention of it anywhere else so I figured 40 minutes of story left. GRRRRRR Oh and there was an author's note that was not needed one bit. It was like eating the best cake in the world but on the last bite you get something really horrible that spreads through your mouth and won't go away. As much as I enjoyed this one, It may be a while before I try another one of her books.
One of my LJ Friends (again locked entry so mums on dets) talked about making Chex Mix yesterday and now of course, I want so. Oddly and thankfully, I have everything I need to do it and so...
The breakfast casserole I made yesterday turned out perfectly. And I have five more!!
I browned and made in crumbles 12 oz of breakfast sausage.
I cut up one half of a long baguette into inch sized cubes.
I scrambled 10 eggs with probably a cup or so of cream (and added salt and pepper).
I added two cups of grated cheese.
I mixed all that together and divided it into 6 dishes. And put it in the fridge. This morning I baked one at 375 for 30 minutes. It really needed 40 minutes but it was still damned good.
Besides the Chex Mix, not a lot planned for today. I think I'll continue my self imposed lock down. There are places I'd like to go but not enough. So here I'll stay.
Finished Reading: The Four Winds, Kristin Hannah. (might get a little spoilery in the comments to this entry) Plans are to start The Left-Handed Twin by Thomas Perry.
Watched:
Schmadoon (Apple+ I watched 2 episodes, it was enough),
Critical (Amazon Prime),
911 Lone Star (I'm tired of this story arc but it looks like we have at least one more hour of it),
Ghosts (I don't love this but there is enough to keep me watching.

Date: 2022-01-12 07:32 pm (UTC)Plus, it took a 180 from level story telling to total emotional mush right there when the publisher called.
The more I think about it, the more pissed I am. I spent a whole lotta time inhaling dust and being thirsty and hungry. I deserved a better ending!

Date: 2022-01-13 12:59 am (UTC)but, thanks to you, we have an update. at 5 pm after 50+ degree weather all day, the smaller mountain is now down to small molehill. Probably 4 feet at the base and and maybe 2 feet high.
the big one is still pretty substantial. it's now the size of maybe 2 SUVs. dark gray SUVs!
