Waiting for the coolwhip to thaw...
Jan. 14th, 2022 11:39 amSince I can't go buy buttercream frosting, I'm making my own batch of Coolwhip frosting (which, honestly, I like just as much). But, the Coolwhip has to thaw. I've got another hour.
A couple of people pointed out something that I had not given enough consideration to. Biggie is happy and healthy and back to his old hijinks. He just stole a ball of yarn from my basket and now it's all over the living room. He's not unhappy about not going outside. There have been times - 5 actually - when I was pretty sure I'd never see this Biggie again. I am so glad to have him. And his fur has pretty much all gown back!

Twitter and Instagram - but mostly Instagram - is really big on giveaways. You reply to their off and mention another account and you are entered in a drawing to win something. I never do it mainly because I never know anyone to mention. So about a year or so ago, I posted an entry that basically says If you need a free mention, use my account whenever you like. I repeat the post every 3 or 3 months. Some people have taken me up on the offer a lot. People I don't know at all and I'm so delighted to help.
What I didn't realize was that, at least sometimes, the giveaway is for the mentioner and the mentionee and today we got picked! It looks like we get a bunch of fabric swatches. I do not need fabric swatches. I have boatloads of fabric. But I'm very excited about this.
My friends upstairs, Sandy and Tija, who have lived here as long as I have... in fact, I think Sandy might have moved in before me. She lived in a unit down the hall. Then when Tija moved in with her, they sold that one and bought one upstairs. Anyway for the past 20 years, they've had this little dog named Lucky. 20 years. Lucky died last week. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for the both of them.
I just found a great idea for another temperature blanket. Twelve large squares. I might do it. And the scarf.
And finally Amazon. I honestly believe that Amazon is the main reason I have not yet gotten COVID. Because of Amazon, I can stay right here in my house, happily with all the stuff I want. Amazon gets a lot of shit from a lot of people for a lot of reasons. But not from me. I'm exceedingly grateful for Amazon. And, in Seattle, it's shopping local!
I got another in house cam in December. It's a cheap Wyze cam. It quit working this week. Not totally but was having massive connection issues. I tried everything. I contacted Wyze who's customer service is not the best aspect of their business. Yes it is under warranty and, I suspect after a time - a long frustrating time, they would replace it but their shipping is also troublesome (remember the scales??). And then, this morning, I remember that I bought the cam on Amazon!!!
3 clicks and I have a free shipping label to send the broken one back and a tracking number of a replacement that will be here tomorrow.
I really do love Amazon.
Time to go check on that Coolwhip.
