susandennisBiggie just took a chunk out of my hand. He was in my lap and nipped at me so I put him on the floor which usually distracts him and he forgets about biting. But, today he came right back with a TAKE THAT!!
Gore behind cut.
It's an L shaped gash that if flapped open could be a bitch and a bother for weeks. So I grabbed some super glue and glued it shut.
THEN I googled about how to super glue a cut and learned that my technique was fine. My super glue is the wrong kind. Damn you, Dollar Store! But, actually, it seems to be working! It's not bleeding any more and there's a nice glue crust protecting it. It's ugly but it could be way uglier.
Most of the time he does not bite and usually I can tell when he's in a bitey mood but today I really missed the signal. I do love him but geesh.

Date: 2022-01-15 07:11 pm (UTC)My method of dealing with scratches or bites is to put dish soap on the wound, run the water as hot as it goes, and hold the affected area under the hot water as long as I can stand it. Then I let it air-dry, and the scab is the "bandage." I've been lucky and not gotten an infection (yet!) by using this method.

Two years ago a friend of mine had been bitten by his cat. It turned septic and into flesh eating bacteria. He lost his small finger to it. It was not pretty.
