I have a skin thing that is like dandruff on your face (it usually attacks my face). seborrheic dermatitis. It makes crusty patches which itch. You almost can't see it but I can feel it and it itches. Mostly it's my chin or around my mouth or nose. But, once in a while it attacks my eyelids and the corners of my eyes and that's where it's landed this time. I have medicine for it - creams - but they are a bitch to get into the corners of my eyes and even on my eyelids.

So I just bitch about it on LJ. It will go away in a few months.

I bought a new computer. And a new app. First the app. Prisma Art Effect Photo Editor. It's $30 a year but there's a 3 day free trial. I think one day is going to be plenty. But, it's fun to mess with.

And then yesterday I bought a computer. A new chromebook. I do not need a new chromebook. But this one is shiny and new and it's from Costco so if I don't love it to pieces, I can easily return it. They don't have it in stores so I couldn't go try it out there even if. It will be here on Wednesday. It's very hard to find 15" chromebooks. Last week I spilled Diet Dr. Pepper on this one. I got it cleared out before damage was done, apparently, but had I not, I'd be SOL for a good every day big chromebook.

The fun thing about chromebooks is that while they do everything I need on a day to day basis, even the most high ends are still cheaper and more fun to use than a PC.

I have 1 thing left that I use my Windows PC for. You still cannot print out layered PDFs on a chromebook. My sewing patterns are all layered PDFs. My CPA used to use software that required a PC but he retired and TuboTax is fine with my chromebook.

So new one coming Wednesday...

Biggie has a new thing. He wants Temptations Chicken topper on every meal. Even just a small squirt. He'll sit by his food and wait until I come squirt some on top.

Fortunately, Amazon had them on sale a month or so ago and I stocked up. But, really, it's a bad habit and I'm to blame. On the bright side, with a little squirt added, he'll eat even the food that he hates.

Today's plans include finishing off the first season of Goliath (Amazon Prime). And, maybe going out to pick up something to eat. Maybe. So, big plans :)

But, first, I'm going to go get dressed after I put some topper on Biggie's food.

Ugh, I feel ya with the seborrheic dermatitis. Mine kicked off in my late teens, and I keep it under control with a power shower and a face scrub. Now it mostly it manifests as blepharitis on my eye lids, which is annoying but I live with it.

I don't seem to get much itching, but my eyes are forever sore, and I've been asked if I'm wearing eyeliner (because the eyelids get so red). I've tried various things over the years, but blasting away the sebum with a power shower seems to be helpful (if the theory is to be believed, it's the sebum that's at the root of it). If I'm away from home and the shower pressure is poor I start to notice it straightaway. I use a mild scrub, again with a view to eliminating sebum, and to try and get the skin flakes away. It's those that seem to build up in my eyelashes and cause the blepharitis, or it's the dermatitis itself on the eyelids. Oddly it's just my left eye that's significantly affected, my right eye is pretty much OK. I suppose I could try going to the GP/MD again, but it will most likely mean a referral, new creams, and going round and round in that cycle. I've been able to live with it like this for 20 or so years.

I picked up one package of those treats last month to round out a Chewy order, but haven't issued it yet. I will take your lead and squirt some on top of any non-fave food items. :D

I have dry, itchy skin too. The internet says "lukewarm water, not hot" and "exfoliate rarely" and "use your hands instead of a washcloth." We shall see if this is efficacious.

I love my Chromebook. Hassle-free.

I use the Tiki Cat version of that with my guy. I call it his pudding and bust it out when he's on a food strike or his blood sugar looks to be swinging too low. They really do get addicted to it!

We only do Tiki Cat because of protein versus carbs. It was the only one I was certain wouldn't spike his blood sugar to Mars and beyond. It's juuuust enough to tempt him back into eating his proper food.

How's Biggie's paws doing? Is everything back to normal after the Great (Never To Be Repeated) Leap of '21?

for what it's worth, i have weird dermatitis on my face at times and shifted from using the creams they gave me to coconut oil with a few drops of tea tree mixed in (basically 4T coconut oil w/4-5 drops of really good tea tree oil and i just use when things outbreak). obviously, not good for around the eyes, but for all the other places (i get it really bad on the back of my neck just above the hairline) it's been a miracle and has worked better than the medications. =D i love our chromebook, too! i can't play most games on it, but for everything else, it's my favorite. =D

I love my chromebook! :)

That art app does look like fun, but I'm with you, I wouldn't pay $30 for it.

Are you going to use the app on a photo of Biggie? Or perhaps a photo of some of the baked goods.....

So they spent more on advertising to make it look fun than they did making it fun to use?
Phooey. (I think I'll stick to real life art supplies.)

My cat growing up ate Science Diet his whole life (plus whatever critters he caught and whatever people food he could plead off us, but I digress). He never tired of it. Most cats I knew were not picky eaters. But, Biggie is as Biggie does.

One person I follow on IG posted the other day she has to put a dollop of different fermented dairy on one dog's food each day or he won't eat it. I think the base food is the same. You'd think they'll eat anything if they are hungry enough.
