King County COVID cases are down 43% and hospitalizations are down 15% and it's Early Hour Tuesday and I need ham so...
I put on two fake kn95 masks and went to Costco!!
I got ham and a couple of other things and some good steps. An excellent adventure.
Unlike previous trips, there was a checkout aisle wide open so I did not use Self Checkout. Turns out, using a person is a PIA now. In Self Checkout, hold your phone up to the card reader one time. Swipe your good. Poke YES when it says 'do you want to use the card on your account' and you are done.
In a person check out, you have to pull out your phone again, and then find the correct card and then they beep it. WAYYYYY too much trouble. And very good to know. Self Checkout for me.
I cruised by the chromebooks to see if by chance my new one was on display and nope. It was not. They had one not-very-good chromebook on display all the other laptops were variations of Windows or Mac.
UPS says mine will be here tomorrow.
My credit union has turned their little telephone tree into a massively toxic forest designed to prevent all but the most necessary of calls. Happily, the new Google feature, Hold for Me, is working great. As soon as you get put on hold, you hit the button and your phone ends the horrible music and also types out any messages like how important my call is. This continues until a person is there. It alerts you with a beep and then you just hit Return To Call. It's perfection.
Yesterday I tried and the woman who finally answered asked me a baskillion identity questions and then told me it would be a 45 minute wait to get to the next person who was the one who could do what I wanted.
Today I'm trying again. So far. No joy. All I need is a verification so I can add my debit card to Google pay. The credit union is making this both ironic and tragic at the same time.

Also I just saw where Dylan McDermott is taking over the lead in FBI Most Wanted. I'm totally on the fence about this. One of my main objections to that show was Julian McMahon who's, thankfully, leaving. But, I'm no fan of McDermott's so we'll see.

Date: 2022-01-26 03:33 pm (UTC)This is news to me. I guess this means that McMahon's character is leaving (or getting killed off?), and not that they're doing the peculiar thing that British shows sometimes do, namely having a different actor take over the same role.
I don't share your dislike of McMahon, and I suppose this means no more of "Jess"'s family either – of course, the kid just went off to boarding school anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter. I'm not sure I've seen McDermott in anything since "The Practice", which was very long time ago. (P.S. I haven't watched last night's "FBI" episode yet, so I don't know if anything relevant is revealed there.)
