Finding my perch
Jan. 27th, 2022 10:02 amThis new keyboard is causing me to have to focus on where my hands are but I'm finding that to be interesting and full of success. Nice big old fat metaphor. Also I shed like crazy.
I decided this time to try out a keyboard skin. It does not impede typing at all, and, in fact gives my fingers a little more purchase. (It does remind me of plastic furniture covers that my college boyfriend's mother had all over her house - keeping some of the ugliest furniture fabric on the planet vibrant and alive.) But, now, after two days, it's littered with skin cells. Ugh. But considering all former unprotected keyboards have all that shit now down in the mechanics of the computer, who do they even still work??!! I ordered a second one so that I can swap out for washing.
Biggie's (and mine because it's a simple pouch) favorite food is on the supply chain hit list and has been for a couple of months. He gets a pouch of it every morning. We have exactly 15 mornings left. And he's not going to be happy. I've tried swapping in a close substitute but he's not having it. He nibbles at it a little but this does this:

He's been sitting right there, just like that staring at me for 15 minutes. I got no Plan B. That food bowl is half full of the substitute.
Amazon brought me groceries this morning. That service is just the best. Every. Single. Time. They always arrive at the front of the 2 hour window. They bring everything up to my door and leave it. They send email and texts to let me know when it's safe open the door and retrieve. In the beginning, the produce was pre-aged and the milk had due dates of today but no more. Today's celery and mushrooms and apples and onions are exactly what I would have picked and the dairy will last a good while. And their inventory gets better and better. I'm very grateful.
Today I'll be making some breakfast burritos. And making a trip down to the recycling dumpsters. They do use a lot of brown paper bags for delivery but that's fine.
And then back to TV and crochet.
Reading: one more night of When You Were Mine by Robotham. I need to line up the next read.
Watched: I finished off Halifax Redemption (Masterpiece). Watched the latest Vera (Britbox) and an episode of How I Met Your Father (Hulu). And then I watched the first episode of Guilded Age (HBO Max). They are dropping one a week for this one and I will probably watch the rest but I will likely just wait until they are all dropped.

Plus imagine that she's had to sit on this since Nov. 9! wild. I will miss her. BUT as one Tweet said, now I'm looking forward to seeing if Rhone has a collection or will be wearing those same eye glasses for his second game!
