Except for watching Jeopardy while on the treadmill, I never turn the TV on until after lunch. I have no idea why, it's just always been that way. Even though everything I watch is pre-recorded or stream. The mystery of me.

I did make a lovely batch of cookies. I had some left over royal icing in the fridge. So half got iced and half are naked but fine with it.

I had lunch and then cleaned the kitchen stem to stern and even dried and put everything away. I'm feeling accomplished. Biggie is napping and now, I think I'll turn on the TV

Dunno. As far as I can recall, this was general practice in my childhood home as well.

Yep. We've had to do a lot of shoveling – we're not done yet; jwg is out there right now, and I will join him shortly, once I'm finished piddling about on this here computer – but we're careful to pace ourselves and not try to do too much at once.

We got somewhere around 2 feet, fortunately of the light and fluffy type (it stayed cold throughout the storm); we had some pretty windy periods, but nothing like what was reported on Cape Cod (gusts over 80 mph!), we never lost power, and the snow stopped somewhat earlier than had been predicted.

Our daily newspaper was not delivered yesterday or today, forcing us to read it on our iPads, which is actually more convenient in some ways but I still prefer old-fashioned paper

whew. it's the losing electricity that really concerns me the most. so glad you didn't. of course, our news of your storm made it seem like survivors would be few. news so loves the melodrama
