A world of contradictions
Jan. 30th, 2022 09:22 amI read blogs and journals about people (in Seattle) going out to eat in restaurants, going to weddings and funerals this week. And I'm afraid to go to Trader Joe's or the Goodwill store or even really leave my condo. I look at the number of people who are still getting the virus and I cannot imagine getting near another person. I am using my COPD as an excuse to be extra cautious and that does not feel wrong but it does feel weird for the rest of the area code to feel so differently about mingling.
Maybe tomorrow I'll venture out.
Today, no jeopardy so I did a walk around the block. It was still dark and probably would have been better to wait until daylight. A woman who lives in this building was walking her dog. She took my photo as I left the building. I cannot imagine she got much of an image. We've had some prowlers and the building manager keeps sending out emails about being on the lookout. So she was. She's a PIA anyway and now she has a picture of me... the prowler... leaving the building. Whatever I stole had to be stored in my hoodie - but she has photographic proof of the perp. And then there was the woman screaming for whoever to get their hands off of her. She was on the other side of the street, alone. So yeah, a lovely stroll around the block.
Today I may do a bit of laundry. I got a large soft kind of chenille top at Goodwill just before it got really cold this year and I want to wear it every day but really it needs to be washed now and again. At least it's keeping me from a huge backlog of dirty clothes.
And then it will be another day of yarn stuff and TV.
Reading: Dark So Deadly by Stuart MacBride
Watched: Finished off season 2 of Goliath. And then found The Fall (PBS/Amazon Prime). I know I've seen the first episode before but I think I may have abandoned it or simply forgot about it because I have no clue what happens next. But, now I'm hooked.
