There will be pockets - and good ones

Two of the tops I bought on Monday have no pockets. I thought maybe I could make that work but nope. I need those pockets. The last time I bought a top without pockets at Goodwill, I just slapped on a couple of patch pockets in a quick and dirty job. I hated them.

So... today... there will be real sewing going on. I'll make nice - in seam pockets for each of the new tops.

I got an invitation to buy a Diamond Club ticket to opening day of the Mariners baseball season. My first already bought game is two days later. I can wait. Plus, I enjoy watching the opening game on TV anyway. BUT, the kicker is when. Spring training is supposed to start in 2 weeks. The owners and players are not anywhere close to an agreement so that's clearly not going to happen. I wonder when opening day will actually be?

Temperature projects.

Here's the first four weeks of my knit scarf. The first row is the low on Jan 1. The second row is the high on Jan 1. etc. The stitch will also change when I start February.



Here's the first block of the crochet blanket. I bring you January! There will be a new block every month.



And, while I'm catching up on things. Here's the little pile of snow.



And the big pile - now looking like a pile of coal.

I must admit, Seattle knows how to make the snow last. Ours will be gone in a day or so.

It looks like another month before that pile of snow melts. Is that a boat parked on your street?

There are actually lots of boats there but I only got one in the shot. They are staged to go into the exhibition center behind the football stadium for the Boat Show starting this weekend.

it sucks that they make a lot of women's clothes with no pockets. I don't have a car so I have to use one of those electronic cards that you put $$ on to ride most forms of public transit and it's so much more convenient to put one in your pocket.

I wonder when opening day will actually be?

Yeah, me too. On the surface, it would appear that neither the owners nor the players realize how much damage they will do to themselves if the season is delayed significantly. I guess each side is hoping that they other will decide that they have more to lose.
