Today there will be more sewing. I have four pockets to install and a couple of adjustments to make. I should be able to finish today or at least get buy without having to unpick invisible stitches.

Those are really my only plans for today.

I feel a little more freedom to go out and shop/walk now but not really enough to do it frivolously yet. Maybe next week. It's ok. I have plenty to entertain me. Heck, it's above freezing today. Maybe the snow piles will melt a little more. In reality, there will be the final episode of season 1 of The Fall. We've got to get that nutjob!! And more crocheting.

My copying LJ to DW was a 95% fail. My profile and userpics got copied but not the entries. I submitted a ticket asking for assist but I'm not holding my breath. I have a backup on my PC that is more or less up to date. And really, if I lost it all, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I used to have years of paper journals. And then, a guy I was dating found them and read them - at least one of them - and then told me about it (so he could get an explanation). I burned them all and dumped him. And lived happily ever after so I know having this disappear is not fatal.

Yesterday, I watched The Fall and also the latest FBI and Ask This Old House.

Hah, nearly the same here. I had a box of journal books that I couldn't figure out what to do with until I closed the business. There was a shredding event at my credit union about the same time I was closing the business so my box of journals went with the other 20+ boxes of paperwork I was getting rid of. I was really glad not to have them sitting around any longer. I think Zoe was looking at the pictures. Fortunately she can't read.

I have to copy/paste to DW in sections. First I just type in the tittle. Then I go to the top of the body of the LJ post and hit Control A and then Control C. Then I go to DW (in the top corner of the body) and hit Control V and it copies.
Then I add the tags, typing them in.

A little bit of a pain. But it copies everything including the photos.

Hope that helps!

I got DW to copy two LJs (I had another account before this one). I think that I had to try twice though. It was a while ago. Now I just crosspost.

In the DW updates, they explain that LJ is blocking their attempts to share between the systems.

The last time I backed up to DW was in the winter of 2019... I'm copying entries over individually in batches. I cannot lose all my entries like I did when GJ went belly up!

I was dating a guy once and he saw my minimized journal screen on my computer. Same as your situation....he read it and promptly got dumped.

What a jerk! Reading your journal?! That's unacceptable.

Long ago, a guy took it upon himself, while I was changing clothes or using the bathroom or some such, to open my mail, a personal letter from my mother, and read it.
When I got out to the main room of my apartment, he told me my mother said, this, wondered that and oh, by the way here's the latest on one of my siblings----
"I didn't hear the phone ring, and you shouldn't have answered it, anyway," I told him.
Oh, no, he'd read my mail.
Because it was open.
Well, I wasn't the one who had opened it.

We broke up because he was sure I was keeping secrets from him and so he couldn't trust me. He was sure, he told me, based on my reaction to what he'd done, that I must be seeing someone else on the side.
Well, dude, it's not like you own me, you understand?

And in addition to having violated my privacy, to say nothing of a federal law, did it occur to him, I have to wonder, if it had been appropriate for him to violate my family's privacy???

I used to religiously keep and file all email in folders. When I moved from Outlook to Gmail, I decided maybe I didn't need to move *everything*, mostly for space saving but also because I had moved on from some of my friends. The messages are stored on this machine and my backups but I've *never* gone back to reread any of it. I don't think it would cause any trouble but maybe it's time to dig it up and get rid of it.

Here's why crossposting to LJ is failing, and journal migration is almost always failing:

I'm very glad that I moved over to DW when import and cross-posting still worked. I hope you manage to get your LJ imported.
