Pick Pockets, Come pick!
Feb. 5th, 2022 03:22 pmPockets are now in all my tops. The last one I dug out of the Goodwill bag. I liked it but I hated the patch pockets. So I took them off and put in the big peekaboo pockets. All done. Nice.
The other day, I wrote about the burnt ends (Madison Hill) I got at Costco. I was unimpressed. But, then I found a review of them online that said to heat them up with a little water and fork pull them and then add the barbecue sauce. I tried it and damn. That's some good stuff. I made sandwiches a couple of times (with english muffins) and today I had some with some cheesy mashed potatoes and some sugar snap peas. Damn decent meal.
The other day when I made my appointment with the optometrist, I downloaded their patient form and sent it to the printer. I picked it up today and realized they were serious - it's 5 pages long! But this is because they give your room to write your answers nicely! So I did. And then I went to MyChart and got a copy of my last visit to the ophthalmologist where he reported all my eye stuff and I printed that out, too. I'm all ready. Watch me leave it all here when I go. In fact, I should probably go ahead and put it in the car now.
Biggie's in a mood today. He wants attention but I can't settle in on exactly what kind. My offerings have pretty much been bitten back. He is in the middle of his mood pills. The vet said they will take 4 to six weeks to kick in and 5 weeks is the end of February. So he's still adjusting.
CarFax sends me an email every month telling me when I need an oil change, etc and it includes an estimate of the current value. Last year - February - they said it was worth $3,260. This February, with an estimated 1,000 more miles on it, they have upped the ante to $4,330. To me, however, it is priceless!

Date: 2022-02-06 06:48 am (UTC)I remember putting a pocket in a skirt when I was a teen using 1950s organza with little ballet dancers in it. No idea what the skirt was like but I remember that organza so fondly. I should follow your lead and put some pockets in disappointing tops

Date: 2022-02-06 10:44 am (UTC)VERY MILD SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE AHEAD
I just saw the finale and after that I can live with that being all there is, but I hope it comes back. There were some missteps IMO (WTF turned Miranda, savvy human rights lawyer, into someone who seems to know nothing about the modern world whatsoever and who behaves like a complete moron around minorities), but overall I thought they did an amazing job of capturing some of the complexities of the second half of life. The thread of grief at Big's fate really rang true to me. It was also so wonderful to see something that put women in their fifties in the centre of the picture. Clearly the show means more to me than I suspected, because when Carrie looks into the camera and says "Sex and the City" I burst into tears!
