Twitter just told me that I'm getting a bus stop!!! This is huge.

When I moved here in the early 90's there was a bus stop on the corner. I used it all the time. And then they took it away. There was still one two blocks away. And then they took that one away. Then they put one a block and a half away. And then removed it. A couple of years ago, they put one across the street. You can guess what happened to that one. King County Metro fucking hates me.

Until now. New bus stop - with big announcement (which the other stops never got) coming 2 blocks away. NOT ONLY THAT but it will have a bunch of great routes. Routes to the center of town, north of downtown and all kinds of other places. But... I am burying the lead.

The new bus stop has a Rapid Ride bus (one stops every 10-15 mins) that goes right to my pool!!!!

By car, when the bridge is open, it takes me 11 minutes. By car now that the bridge is closed for repair, it takes me from 45-60 in heavy stop and go traffic. BUT there's a backup bridge that buses can use so door to door, even if I miss the bus and have to wait for the next one, will take max 30 mins.

I'm so excited I cannot stand it. I might go Saturday but I will absolutely be there at 8 am on Sunday when the pool doors open. Just like in the olden days!! I need to get out my swim music player and charge it up and get my swim bag ready to go.

The bridge is supposed to be finished this summer but of course, supply chain issues and union problems and a-million-other-lamo-reasons will delay it. I've been trying not to think about it.

But now... fuck the bridge. CANNONBALL!

Wow…you being back in the pool on a regular basis would be good. I’m sure people have changed, but there will be new regulars to appreciate you, and your handmade swimsuits, and man, *I* miss your pool stories!

I have to share this with you that I found on wiki about Anna Sorokin...
As a young adult, Sorokin obsessively followed Vogue, fashion blogs, and image accounts on LiveJournal and Flickr.[6] Anna has a younger brother, who is a teenager

she followed LJ! weird huh!

I was holding my breath when beginning to read your posting and secretly hoping I'd read these words:
"The new bus stop has a Rapid Ride bus (one stops every 10-15 mins) that goes right to my pool!!!!"

Excellent. In 1972 Seattle Transit sent out requests for engineers to plan a county-wide system. My father applied and was interviewed. His specialty was systems analysis - looking at an existing system and doing the math to make it more efficient. He was not surprised when they did not hire him but we all had a big laugh when they chose Metro, the water treatment company. Their one claim to fame was cleaning up Lake Washington.

Any particular reason for the frequent removal and reinstatement, or just the whims of mass transit?

They got rid of the bus stop across the street from where I live. This was a really inconvenient move as the other bus stops are pretty far away.
