But, where in the heck are my shower shoes? I think I might have donated my shower shoes to Goodwill. Sigh. I sure can't find them here.

My new bus stop is alive! There's a number you can text with the id of your stop and even the bus id and it will send you Next info. I texted this morning.

The S means scheduled not estimated. I think I'll shoot for the 7:25.

That was the before times.

Now it is 9:45 and I am home. I did not get the 7:25 or the 7:10. The 6:55 pulled up just as I got there and the bus driver was pulling away but made a special stop for me. The ride was fabulous. Directly there. 3 stops between mine and the pool. I got there 45 minutes before the pool opened.

From the outside looking in...

In the before times, on weekends, they often opened after 8. Someone was hung over or they couldn't find the keys, etc. Today the front desk person was there at 7:45 and she let me in at 7:50!!

I swam and swam and swam and swam and it was glorious. I mean it really was. I felt like I could go forever. But then my not-used-in-nearly-a-year shoulders started to complain a little and I figured if I blew them out today, there wouldn't be anything left for tomorrow. So I quit.

Getting showered and dressed was exhausting but the swimming was the best. It's a half block to the bus stop. I sent a text and learned I had a 4 minute wait. Turned out to be 3. The return stop on this end is one block further out which makes the trip home a trudge, but still so worth it.

As I type this, I can feel my upper arms discussing the situation "What they fuck was that??? Does she think we're made of fucking iron or something?? Should we go on strike? I'm thinking about it. Yikes!"

Everybody I saw at the gym was wearing a mask except the other swimmers while they were in the pool. I had to show proof of vaccination. It was all fine.

I need to add onto my swim bag strap so I can do cross body. I'll do that today. And, happily, I no longer have to use (or pay for) Spotify. My little player is OK with Amazon and I'm fine with the selections provided free with prime. But I do need to beef up my playlist.

First, though, I'm STARVING!!!!

What a great day and it's not even 10:30.

I am SO glad you're back swimming again! With the bridge out for cars and buses having their own bridge, you'd have thought they'd have taken advantage of that "transportation hole" a long time before this.

Wonderful! Don't you love to swim? It's my favorite activity. With Omicron settling down, perhaps I'll look into Silver Sneakers.

Hooray!!!
You know, this right here is one of those things that make me feel like things really might be ok, on this new side of the pandemic. It’ll never be back to “old normal” but as long as we can keep some of the best things from that old normal in our new normal, we can forge ahead. And you taking the bus to the pool and writing about swimming is a good thing indeed.

I remember once when I had not been swimming in years I went to an outdoor pool like the one I spent my age six to 18 swimming lessons and just general swimming adventures with friends. It was glorious to swim in the open air. It was glorious and then I tried to get out of the pool. My legs said “not doing it!” Walking home my legs said, “ Haha you walk like your drunk.”
