Those are the best words coming from my doctor. He's just the best. He does want me to go see a dermatologist about a thing on my back. I'm kind of ok about it because the thing has been itching and bugging me for years. I'd love to gt rid of it. So I went to the dermatology department and got an appointment for Thursday.

He also offered me a new (to me) drug. Metformin. He described it as a prophylactic in my case to keep my sugar numbers below diabetes. Fine by me. I looked it up when I got home and it's pretty cheap without insurance but Humana covers it 100% so cool.

And then the parking pay thing was broken and so my parking was free.

Then on to Costco. I got bacon and cheeseburgers and chicken alfredo and butter. And I got Kirkland pulled pork (refrigerator section). I'd picked up some ciabatta rolls last week so I heated up the pork and made an absolutely fabulous sandwich. OMG so good. This is now a staple in my kitchen. I'm going to freeze it in sandwich size servings. Yum.

And I remembered to use the cash back from my Costco Visa card so it cost me $2.98.

Another recent score - this time in the cat food kitchen is Stella & Chewy's Marie’s Magical Dinner Dust. It's pricey but there's a lot in that package. I dished out some food that I have a lot of and Biggie had decided he doesn't like. I sprinkled on some of this magic dust and, guess what??? He likes it!! He ate nearly half a can with about a teaspoon of dust. There may be life in all this rejected cat food after all.

It's so warm here today. I wore a short sleeved shirt to the doctor's office so they could more easily take bloodpressure. Also that damn office is always too hot. I fully intended to change when I got home but I've got the door open to the terrace and it's still very comfortable in here.

Next up, I need to tidy up the kitchen and wash the dishes and prep the pork for freezing and then I'm probably going to take the rest of the day off.

Biggie's sleeping off his lunch in his whale bed.

I'm T2 diabetic, and metformin is what I'm prescribed for it. Have been for years now. For me, at least, it works very well: blood sugar is kept well in check so long as I eat and exercise sensibly, and I've had no noticeable side-effects.

Just be aware wen you start taking it that you may have a certain amount of "gastric upset" of one kind or another. This normally stops after a week or so.

Apparently it's also the fountain of youth but don't quote me on that ...

I'm on Metformin, and it keeps my blood sugar in a reasonable range. I wasn't too far off when I started it, and it's more a proactive medication for me. And, I admit I am not being all that careful with my diet. However, I have a side effect of minor digestion issues. In short: some constipation and bloating, especially if I overeat or don't drink enough liquids. According to my doctor, it's especially important to drink lots of water when on this medication.

Glad you had a good response from your doctor. I take Metformin as I'm T2 diabetic. Been taking it for years with no problems.

I've been on metformin since last summer, when my A1C started creeping into the "prediabetes" range. I am hoping it's working. I too wear short-sleeved shirts when I go to the doctor's, because of the perennial blood-draw. Great minds think alike!

I've been on metformin for almost 25 yrs [yikes] and it seems to be doing a good job keeping things stable -- good luck with it!
