I'm getting better about getting the bus to the pool. The first few days I got to the stop way too early. This morning my wait was only about 5 minutes. My swim was glorious. Until my last two laps, I had the pool to myself. I have mixed feelings about having the pool to myself. I enjoy having others swim in the lanes next to me but there's also something lovely and quiet and peaceful about being the only one making waves.
The bus ride home was better than yesterday. We got stuck a little but mostly made good time. Until we got to my stop where the bus driver decided NOT to stop! The next stop after mine is a good 5 blocks further. I'm happy to say that I managed to walk it mostly without stopping. I had on the wrong shoes and my shins were killing me but at least I would walk and breathe. My saving grace was no sun and it was cool. If that happens in summer, I'm totally getting a Lyft.
Even with all the extra walking (slowly), I still got home a few minutes past 8. Not too shabby.
Last week I got some Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits for breakfasts. I like them but they are expensive for what you get. So I got this great idea that I'd make my own. I got Jimmy Dean sausage patties (cooked) and Mason Dixie biscuits. I cooked the biscuits (they come frozen) and then put a sausage in each, wrapped them in a paper towel then plastic. Ready for the morning! Except those damn Mason Dixie biscuits are way too sweet! Ugh. Looks like I'll have to make my own biscuits. I can do that. In fact, I can make cheese biscuits. Even better! I'll save the Mason Dixie's to have buttered and toasted with syrup over them for desserts.
This morning I have the dermatology appointment. But it's not for a couple of hours.
I signed up to test a knitting pattern. It's a cloche cap that uses a couple of unique techniques. Also some terminology I've never heard of. So interesting. I've started it twice now and screwed up both times. Finally this morning, while I was swimming, I think I figured out my error. So I'll be working on that. Just because I've been knitting since I was 6 - that's 66 years... there's still some knitting shit that I do not know - maybe it's new stuff they just invented.
I cleaned out most of my crochet hooks last night and now have a pile on the table ready for Goodwill. You need lots of knitting needles - even multiples of the same size because they stay on the project until you finish. But you can take one crochet hook and use it on multiple projects at the same time. Even counting for duplicates in case one goes missing you still don't need the massive pile I have. Plus there are a core of about a dozen that I use for everything. The
are leaving to hook elsewhere.
Yesterday I watched more Traces (Britbox) and 911 Lonestar and Ask This Old House.
Still reading Brad Meltzer's The Escape Artist.

Date: 2022-03-03 10:00 pm (UTC)I don't know what the actual rules are but the practice around here is that if no one is waiting and no one wants off, the bus skips the stop.
So, the dude should have stopped because I requested.
BUT this stop is new so likely he just didn't even think about it.
Going forward, I'm going to sit nearer the driver so I can yell "YO STOP REQUESTED" if he tries to blow by it again.

Date: 2022-03-03 08:07 pm (UTC)Goodness, what a lot of crochet hooks. I don't crochet so I can only guess that they are different sizes.
