DW from LJ Importer Success!!!

I've been trying to import the rest of my LJ every day now for a week. I try a couple of times a day. I just did the first try for today AND IT WORKED!!!!

I share in case those who have been trying are discouraged and need a little Keep Trying boost.

Glad it worked for you. On LJ I always just downloaded/exported my entries at the end of every month to my computer. Then I deleted them from LJ. So I have them all on my computer. A year or so ago I began scanning my paper journals also and got all those done. So now I can store and make backups easier in case of a fire or flood or something. Gives me peace of mind.

BTW, one of the nice things about DW is that you can use Markdown in comments . (Not posts, but on those rare occasions when I want to use it my posting toolchain uses Pandoc to translate it into HTML.)

Holy crap, mine has worked as well for entries! I'd left it running about 20 minutes ago. Comments are still pending 🤞

Thank you. :) I was absolutely spoiled by my 'permanent' account at LJ (so glad I paid for that years ago), which kept me there, but I'm happy to use more than one service.

I'm still on the fence about whether I really want to back up all my entries here. I know its not physical stuff, but it still feels like stuff. I kind of just want to let it all go, but then I worry that I might want to read it again some day.
