So. Found a smart plug* and set it up. Got the ladder. Climbed up on the kitchen counter to reach the top of the cupboards and see that the camera was fine. It was the smart plug I installed last time that was failing! GRRRR. To punish it, I swapped it out for the one I set up this morning. It's a different brand.

*Good organization says to keep like things together. All the pencils in one spot, all the spare batteries on one spot, all the unused smart plugs in one spot. Great plan. Flaw = where the fuck is the smart plug spot??? I know I have more than a few not being used. I just don't know where I put the damn things.

Then I needed to take something to the post office to mail. We have a tiny one about 5 blocks from here - a long trot for me. Or one not far to drive. I opted to walk and was surprised to discover it was a fairly easy walk. I think my swimming is paying off. BUT I got there and it was closed. It was 9:45 and that office doesn't open til 10. I had my phone. I could hang and play phone games for 15 mins.

But in about 5, a woman showed up sweeping the floor and then she opened the door and asked if I was there to check my PO box. I said no that I needed to mail something but that I was fine waiting. "Oh, gosh, no! It's too cold for you to be standing out there. Come on in." She was just as fun and nice as she could be. I had mailed my package and was on my way before the opening time of 10 am!

I need to get that receipt out of my jacket pocket - it has a QR code for a survey. That lady deserves starts.

Then I went to make reservations for omakase sushi for when my brother is here. I had a list of the top sushi places in town and started at the top. He's not going to be here until the end of the month. So I figured I'd get the pick of the litter. NOPE. I found one place that had 2 open seats during the 6 nights he's here! holy quacamole. We decided we'd rather go to the oh so fun conveyor belt sushi place again instead.

Now I need to get back to my chores.

Until recently I had a known not working smart plug that I could just not throw away. Last week I threw it away.

All my unused smart plugs are labeled 'spare'. Not sure how I intended to tell them apart. My smart plugs are litterly not very but then neither am I.

Omakase! Good, mid-range sushi is one of the things I miss about Seattle. In London the only good sushi was crazy expensive, and out here in the forest, well, there’s no sushi at all! XD

I go through that dance each year in November with the two smart plugs we have for the "Big Tree" and the "Gay Tree". I usually find them plugged into each other in one of three drawers. And I swear there are some as-yet-unopened spares around here somewhere, but heaven only knows where.

I would love to visit a conveyor belt sushi place! Closest one is 1.5 hrs from me. I cannot use chopsticks though & I'm very self-conscious about it lol.

What a wonderful woman! I am glad she was so helpful and that you were able to finish your posting before the post office even opened! What do you mean by having only two seats? Are the restaurants all booked with reservations?
