Costco was packed. Don't those people know it's open on weekends??? But, I knew what I wanted and beelined it and then used self checkout so no big deal at all. Quite pleasant actually. On the way home I stopped at my brother's bakery and treated myself.

In the stores and on the street still masks everywhere. They are doing major road work on my street. Even the road work crews were masked. I'm very surprised.

At Costco, I looked for more of that Kirkland pulled pork. But they didn't have any. I got DelReal instead and had some for lunch. Not nearly as good. Oh well.

*I call it my brother's bakery because anytime bill_schubert gets to town, he lands there and I don't mind at all. My current rule is that if I'm driving by, and there's a parking spot, I stop and get a treat. Today was the day. I did not tell them that Bill will be here next week. Why spoil the surprise?

Saw a guy on my way home standing in the middle of the street taking a picture of a gas price more than $5. A truck almost ended his project. When I first got my driver's license, gas was $.30-$.34 a gallon. During the oil crisis of 1973, everyone said "When the price of gas hits $1, I'm parking it." They didn't.

What kind of yarn did you use? It’s still that vibrant after machine washing? Wow…

Thank you. I use Stylecraft Special DK. It's a very soft acrylic yarn. All washing does is even out the stitches (much like blocking) and make it softer (and make it cleaner, of course). It does not affect the color.

Is it machine dryable?

sure. it's 100% acrylic. machine wash/machine dry 1000k times. it only gets softer (and cleaner). great yarn - comes in 100 colors - i get mine from woolwarehouse

That sounds like my favorite coffee shop, if there is parking I will stop but that usually only 60% of the time.

gas price more than $5

Not having a car, I don't tend to notice gas prices much, but did notice yesterday that it was $1.75 per liter at a gas station not that far from us. Which is $7/gallon, I think (roughly 4L in a gallon?).

I kinda wish we had a Costco near us. We do have a Sam's but I feel like Costco's stuff is better lol :P

I hear gas is $6.50 a gallon in California.

I've been surprised at how many mask I continue to see too.

I'm still wearing mine. Nightsky tested 'detected' for his pre-surgery COVID test, with no symptoms.

I tested negative with a home test, but just in case...

When I don't have my mask on, I do feel like my shirt is on inside out or my slip is showing...
