I got to the pool this morning to learn it was closed. "When will it reopen?" "No idea" I should have asked him if he thought days or hours. But, this particular guy is not one you take complex or really any questions to. He hands you a towel and possibly a good morning and that's his limit. I'll call later today.

I was surprised how well I took the news. But, hey, it wasn't a chore to get there. I was up anyway. The pool REALLY needs cleaning. I mean really. The pool and the pool deck (and the showers and the rest of the gym for that matter). It would have been nice to have had a little notice but whatever. I am lucky this gym is there and has a pool I can use. AND that my membership is paid for by my insurance. It's hard to get really pissed.

AND, the bus ride home was free. I learned that the bus at 7:15 takes half the time that the bus at 8:15 does. It's lovely and cool these mornings and to/from the bus stop makes a nice walk. I also discovered that my new backpack is clearly contributing to my neck issue. I think we may leave it at home for a couple of days.

Instagram tells me that Daiso (the Japanese store that sells everything for $1.50 and has a lovely inventory of cool shit) is raising its prices to $1.75 next week. I feel like I should go over there today and buy a bunch of stuff to save those quarters. But, honestly, I really don't need anything they have right now so maybe I'll save more quarters and stay home.

Biggie mangled my left hand last night. Three gauges on the back of my hand. I was able to send the video of it to Leah who is working hard on the case even before she gets here. Her latest email asks me about what toys Biggie has. I've been meaning to get them all out and sorted and the ones he never uses sent to Goodwill. I guess that's a good task for today.

Amazon failed to bring me my neck heating pad yesterday. The latest promise is 11 am today. Here's hoping. I still can't sleep on my right side. I wonder if skipping a swim will help as well. hmmmm

Now I need to find some breakfast.

I wish we had a Daiso here. Even at $1.75 it's a good deal.

I have a bitey cat as well. I manage to avoid it, though, by anticipating it. He doesn't like sudden moves. I have no idea what made him this way. He was a shelter cat, and I think his previous owner was mean to him. It took about ten years to get him to the point where he doesn't bite constantly.

Oh, he is so much better! He used to stand in the back hall and refuse to let me go into the bedrooms. I called him "the thug on the rug." One time, he sank his teeth into the flesh above my right ankle. Ten years later it still itches - I told a dermatologist, who wanted to give me a cream. I said, "No, it's in the tissue below the skin."

I got in the habit of bringing a jacket or afghan with me, and I'd drop it on him so I could pass. There's an LJ community called CatHealth, and someone mentioned that he might have dominance issues?

Susan if this could be of help to you. I had neck issues really bad and was recommended to use this together with deep heat sprays. I sleep with it on most nights and it turns off automatically.
It was my saviour.

If I owned a pool I would expect the cleaning crew to do it during closed hours
