Biggie air kisses
Mar. 24th, 2022 08:25 amBiggie has this fun trick where he will lift up his snout to my lips - not touch but wait for me to make a kissing sound before he lowers it. Air kisses. He's nestled in my lap right now and he just did it. It's just freakin' adorable.
As I predicted, I'm now waiting to go to the airport. I have a personal problem with Too Early Itis. It's like the opposite of procrastination. I'm always too early for everything. I try not to be and never make it. Google says his plane will land at 10:30. This means it will be 10:45ish before he's at the curb. (We are a carry on only family*.) Regular traffic, I'm maybe 20 minutes from the airport. They have a very handy cellphone lot so I'll go cool my jets there but really no need to leave the house much before 10. It's now 8:30.
*Our parents were very efficient packers as well. Our Dad traveled constantly for business. My childhood was spent watching him pack and learning how to do it right. My brother used to check stuff but gave that up about a decade ago. I can (and have) packed for two weeks or more in a case that will fit under an airplane seat.
However, we have a sister. Who needs a u-haul to go on an overnight sleepover. This, as in most everything else she does, throws off our family average. (I haven't been in contact with her for a couple of decades but it's highly doubtful she's changed one bit.)
I ordered new masks yesterday. I've been watching for fire sales and found one and cashed in. I'm guessing we'll need them again. BUT also, most every August/September we get really horrible air from forest fires so if I'm wrong about viruses, I'll be ready for fires and if I'm also wrong about fires then I just blew $10 and I'm not at all mad about it.
Around here, the majority of people are still wearing them. And, of course, I still need them for the bus.
Ok Biggie just got up so that's my clue to get into the shower and get dressed and try not to leave for the airport yet.

Date: 2022-03-24 05:35 pm (UTC)I tend to be early as well.
lol I cannot pack light. And yet it never fails I always seem to forget something!
Sad to hear you're not close with your sister :(
Cute masks! I'm surprised people where you live are still wearing them. Even when they were mandated where I live, people politicized it & would harass those who did wear them. It made things scary because those people were very aggressive.

Date: 2022-03-24 09:10 pm (UTC)Fun masks! Masks are optional here now, but I am still wearing them. I don't plan to stop.
I am on on time person. My husband is a too early person. Or at least used to be. The first time we flew after we were married, we were at the airport 4 hours early. And our luggage went on an earlier flight than we did so we almost missed our connection trying to find our luggage, lol. He chilled a bit after that . . . ;)
Have fun with Bill! :)

Date: 2022-03-24 10:46 pm (UTC)Me? Ha! I can’t be early to anything to save my life. On time maybe….but…..
I need at least one checked bag when I travel. It’s a pain but necessary.

Date: 2022-03-27 05:34 pm (UTC)"On time" is the same thing as "late" to me.
When flying I have GOT to be past security at bare minimum an hour before my flight boards, any later and I'm freaking out lol
