Bill arrived safe and sound. Getting to the airport was fine. Getting to the arrivals area at the airport was a big pile of monkey poop. Why don't people bring their brains when they drive to the airport?

We came home and dropped stuff and said hi to Biggie and then walked across the stadium parking lot and then another block to The Dough Zone. This place has been on my radar for a long while now. I follow them on Instagram and have long wanted to try their cucumber salad.



Turns out it was delicious as well as all the other things we tried. And the service was perfect. Until time to pay. The guy put the bill in front of Bill. I took it and put my credit card on it. My credit card has my caricature (same as my icon here but way bigger) right in the center. Clearly not my brother (who sports both a beard and long hair). But, when he came back with the bill for signing, he once again started to give it to Bill. He corrected himself but really... dude. Happens all the time so I'm not faulting him.

Now Bill's gone to take a little nap and I'm watching the Mariner game. All is excellent.

I'm glad that everything is going so well and that you enjoyed your first outing with Bill. It is quite foolish to assume who will pay for a meal, and then to make the same mistake when you were the one who signed for it. Ah well.

Something about an airport that causes people to act less than rationally. Must be all the rushing & people arriving from different time zones & jet lag :shrug:

You may have mentioned this already but how long was his flight?

I can only imagine how much that area must've grown since I was last there [over 20 years ago!]. I had to drive through narrowed lanes on the highway at breakneck speeds through construction or get run over. Not a good scene for someone with anxiety!

Coincidentally, I can still remember my very first cup of iced coffee with Irish cream from a Starbucks kiosk. I was hooked! This was before it took off as it has & actual buildings are on nearly every street corner. However, somehow I've been unable to recreate that exact magical taste.

Ooooh the bane of my existence, going out with ANY male and always having MY card returned to them, or the check inevitably presented to them when it's my treat, etc etc.

I always give a Significant Look to the server, too, when they bring the check.
Sometimes they get it, but sometimes they give me a little smile like "Aren't you cute!" and then STILL hand the check to my companion. effing annoying!!!

And there's really no excuse for it. To avoid the entire issue, all a server has to do is put the check on the table roughly between us! We can take it from there!

Hmph. Sorry to rant, this is definitely a pet peeve of mine!
