Biggie curled up into my lap this morning after his breakfast. Sadly, my breakfast is in the air fryer waiting for me to get up and turn it on. Alexa??!! help. Nope. At least I have coffee.

I found out last night that they are closing my closest Walmart. It's in a little shopping plaza about 15/20 minutes from here. It hasn't even been open that long. I heard a news story about a woman who got shot in a Walmart parking lot in Factoria. I was so excited. There's a Walmart in Factoria???!!! But, alas, at the end of this month women will need to go to Renton to get shot in a Walmart parking lot. It's only about 25 minutes from here and a much bigger Walmart anyway.

Yesterday afternoon I watched a fascinating documentary about Gordon Lightfoot. In my little mind, he's from a time when we were all looking for things that were good about Canada. Running to Canada was a way to not get killed in the VietNam war if you were male of the species in the US. At that time, if you made it to Canada (not that difficult really), you were safe but you could never ever come back. So it was not a slam dunk proposition. But, Gordon Lightfoot was there. So that was something.

Today is supposed to be opening day of baseball season after they delayed it because of their pissing match. But, the Mariners play Minnesota in Minnesota who did not bother to put a roof on their stadium. So weather is making today's game cancelled. Ok. I'll watch the RedSox beat the Yankees. Ooops. Rained out. Ok, I'll watch the Toronto game. FUCK they don't 'open' until tomorrow.

A fine opening day this will not be.

I have a phone appointment at 8:30 or 9 with the Humana Pharmacy. It's part of their COPD program to give me some free inhalers. It's a painless call but I can't blow it off.

Then at 11:15 I have my booster shot at Costco. Also I'm taking the computer back there today to get my money back.

It's supposed to be freakishly warm here today - one day only - timed nicely with my needing to wear a short sleeved shirt to get my shot. Thanks, weather peops!

I did skip swimming this morning. No good reason, just thought a day off would be good. I have been taking a swim selfie every morning and posting it on Instagram. I think yesterday was the last one. I'm just over it. No good reason. I'll swim again tomorrow but no selfie. I don't need proof that I was there.

Last night was the first night I have been able to sleep comfortably on my right side. That 'crick' in my neck took more than a month to heal. But, it finally has.

Why isn't there one good app that keeps track of all the streaming programming? I want to go one place to find out what's streaming where when and when the next episode will drop. I've found lots that say they do this but they do not. I don't just want Netflix. I want Acorn and Britbox and Amazon Prime (not the 'subscriptions' just the prime). It sure does not seem like that big of a deal to me but it must be. Since I can't be the only person who wants it and there is none. I keep a list that I gather from google, etc. Not efficient.

Leah told me to pour my cat nip into a plastic bin and put a bunch of toys in there with it overnight. I did. Biggie's not impressed. Was his cat nippery a one time deal?

I think the one time I had a cat react to catnip, he did it once then never again. So I would not be surprised at no further reaction.

Send me a link to the app when you find it.

It will take some work I can see. But it mirrors PC and APP and you can make the ones you don't want disappear. It's a start.

One Streaming App to Rule Them All

I saw mention yesterday that Plex now allows you to add multiple streaming apps. No use if it requires a locally hosted server, but perhaps it just needs a Plex account? I've not tested it yet.

The Apple TV does a so-so job of it, better than anything else I've come across at least.

Apple TV is sort of good at giving you an up next queue from all the different services which is probably good enough for those with simple demands, but not for those who are more avid watchers. Also I only find the actual Apple TV device to be good. Not tried the app, and the website is poor. It's a bit of an expensive device, and it's quick, but just not quite good enough to justify for that I think.

I don't know if Plex requires the media server for this content aggregation thing. I have a feeling it might not, so you just install the app, create an account, and then add your other accounts. Although whether it's any good at actually aggregating it all...

Yeah, my cats do that sometimes. Mostly when the catnip is older. It does lose its strength pretty quickly.

Have you ever tried matatabi sticks for Biggie? https://meowyjanes.com/what-are-matatabi-chew-sticks/

When I had cats, they loved those things.

Also, I couldn't remember what they were officially called, so googled "japanese sticks that cats like".

Oh, I could write a treatise on Gordon Lightfoot. I saw that documentary, and really loved it. There were some clips from Massey Hall, the most wonderful place to see him in concert. I don't know how familiar you are (or for that matter if you CARE!) but the late Jesse Winchester went to Canada to avoid the draft, and became a Canadian citizen. When the draft avoiders were pardoned, he came back. He had to put up with a whole buttload of crap from people (when he first returned) calling him names.

A high school classmate and my next door neighbor went to Canada during the Vietnam War. I still remember visiting with him outside on the patio after those that left were pardoned and he was able to come home. I can't remember, though, how long he was gone but it had to be several years. I think I had a crush on him and was very appreciative of his hippie-ness!

You made me laugh about Walmart. I love documentaries, especially if they're about interesting subjects. I'm sorry about your baseball games. I'm glad that your neck is feeling better. I wonder what is going on with Biggie.
