Back in the swim
Apr. 18th, 2022 08:55 amAfter taking two days off, my swim was better than ever this morning. There may be only two swim days this week, actually.
Tomorrow I have my appointment to get that thing removed from my mid-back. I don't know if swimming will be allowed OR if it will hurt too much to swim. I'm doing a go with the flow approach to the whole thing.
The last time I had a dermatologist removed something - it was a couple of bumps on my scalp. I didn't think anything of it until the numbness wore off and those two sites hurt like the dickens for days!
So this time I'm ready for whatever. I am glad I'm getting it done because the damn thing itches like crazy. And scratching it does not make it better. So let's just get rid of it and suffer the consequences gracefully.
I am going to treat myself to Lyft rides to and from. My appointment is at 11:45 and the parking situation at the clinic has gotten pretty horrible and mid-day is the worst so fuck it. I'll spend the bucks to make at least that part go better.
But there will be plenty of time for a swim tomorrow.
I am planning to take my bill and insurance Explanation of Benefits statement with me. I have no idea where the billing office is but I plan to find out. I did find their email address and sent them a note last week but have not heard a peep. Also never got a call back from their annoying call system. I will win this war. It may take losing a few battles but I will win.
Today there will be no baseball. The team has the day off.
I have a couple of errands that I might run. But, otherwise, no big plans.
This morning was the first morning that it was not so terribly cold. I wore a long sleeved shirt and vest and that was all I needed. Also, at 6, which is about when the bus arrives at my stop, it's now getting lighter. By mid-Summer, it will be full daylight. This won't be for long but it will be handy. Most busses in Seattle are a dark hunter green. My bus (the Rapid Ride) is red. At 6 am there are normally two green buses that arrive before mine. It's so hard to tell in the dark which is which.
We have this decorative ledge outside the elevators on each floor of the condo building. Sometimes there are seasonal decorations out there - I suspect planted by the 'hospitality' committee of the board. Those decorations are usually gone after the holiday.
When my brother was here - so a few weeks ago - there appeared a rather cute stuffed troll. And then, one day, there were two. I did not check but I assume the other floors had the same. Bill really really wanted to move them around floor to floor but he restrained. Then a week or so later another appeared and another. I'd have guessed they would be gone after Easter but, this morning, they got a new tribe member!

Generally I don't like when they decorate out there but I'm getting pretty invested in these fucking trolls.
Ok, time to get going. My swimsuit is not going to dry fast enough in that crumpled heap in the plastic bag inside my backpack.
