According to the nurse and doctor, that thing is off my back. It has been replaced by a 6" square bandaid. It took way longer that I thought it would but it wasn't uncomfortable or unpleasant. It is weird, tho, smelling yourself being burned (cauterized). She used non-disolving stitches because 'that place on the back is just used so much plus you couldn't swim with dissolving stitches'. I have to go back in two weeks and get the stitches out.

But, she said I could swim anytime I wanted. So yeah. She did say that the site might be pretty sore for the next couple of days.

Also the nurse told me something that I did not know. When you have a wound that is not infected, it's best NOT to use anti-bacterial cream. "It impedes the healing process." I use it all the time. Or rather used to use it all the time. On Biggie bites but if he ever bites me again, I will not!

I had a great Lyft driver take me there. GYNORMOUS brand new car. He could open the passenger door from behind the wheel. Quite handy. It was really pretty inside and he was nice. The driver coming home had a bit of a 'tude. He'd made no effort to find me although I was standing right there. He very nearly left. And did not even try to apologize. He got 5 stars but NO tip.

No masks required on the bus any more. But, I suspect that many will still wear them. I probably will if the bus is crowded. At least for a while.

I took my billing dispute papers with me and found out the billing office is in another location. So now my campaign is to call every day and select 'call me back'. IF no action this week, next week, it's a WFT email to the company. I've emailed them before and they always respond.

Every year the Mariners put together a 3 or 4 day trip for season ticket holders to another ballpark. It's a pretty nice package if you are into that kind of thing and they have gone to some interesting places. I just got the email today. This year it's Dallas, Texas. Mid August.

How many ways are there to say NFW?? I would use them all. Yeah they have a new stadium that is supposed to be very impressive should you live through the heat to get there. I'll pass, thanks.

I'm very surprised to hear that you are allowed to swim at all with either kind of stitch! I had a mole removal done on my face and had 3 regular stitches and I was allowed to shower, but not to let the water stream actually hit my face...it could only be washed there if i carefully cupped water and put my face in. I guess maybe they assume you aren't diving forcefully into the pool water, so the concept is the same? My sis wasn't allowed to shower with her recent basal removal, but hers involved a skin graft so that makes more sense. My dad has stitches from his knee replacement and they made him wrap it in saran wrap prior to a shower. Interesting!

I'm glad you've got rid of that thing before it got any worse.

I never knew that about the cream, I would always use it just in case. I should remember that

It's definitely weird to smell your own skin burning. Been there. Hope you heal quickly and painlessly!

LOL that they are going to Dallas in August. Not the time to visit.

Although not as bad as it used to be before they built the new ballparks, and had to play outside. (The Rangers had an exemption from the rule that nobody could televise a game opposite the ESPN Sunday night game, because there was no way they were going to play a day game in the Dallas area during the symmer.)

I too find it interesting they're allowing you to swim even with traditional stitches. They are the medical professionals though!

I was told by a derm to never use Neosporin & to use Polysporin instead because I guess it doesn't have the same ingredients.

I hope your excision heals quickly. I know those things are uncomfortable. I was surprised at how painful my mole removals have been, even though they weren't that big.

I am glad that you're okay. I usually put white vinegar or manuka honey on wounds. I have a balm for the purpose, but I don't know where it is at the moment. I'm surprised you gave that driver any stars. I certainly wouldn't have, and I would have complained to headquarters about him. Had you not been sighted, he could have just left you there and you wouldn't have known what happened.

I hope it's okay that I am posting a link in your journal, but I saw this and immediately thought of you. I think you'll enjoy it.
