I did not go swimming today. The doctor's instructions are to change the bandage today so I decided to do that first and see how it goes. Plus I'm lazy. And I have the microwave installation today. etc. I have more excuses if you need them.

I think I'll take a shower and get my skin all soaky and then peel the bandage off... carefully. The doctor offered that if I wanted to come in, they would change it for me. But the whole getting there, parking, waiting, etc. made me say no. I am, of course, second guessing now.

More people I know have gotten COVID in the past two weeks than in the past two years. It's so weird. I was always amazed that, particularly before the vaccine, COVID did not hit closer to home. All the people I saw getting it were on the news or twitter. But now, all vaccinated and boosted, it's popping up in my little circle. So far, all the cases are mild and, hopefully, it will stay that way.

I need to clear out the microwave installation area. And tidy up a few things. And shower. And get dressed. And changed this damn bandage.

Better get on it.

That was probably a good decision, not to swim quite just yet. Good luck changing the bandage, I hope it's not in a too hard-to-reach spot.

I'm in exactly the same situation with Covid - I keep hearing about family members in Australia who have it, whereas for the whole two-plus years until now nobody I knew came down with it.

Since most of my family are in Western Australia, where the borders have been closed for two years, it's not really surprising to me that now that the borders are open, the virus is really taking hold even amongst the vaccinated.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. I think it has to do with a lot of people (and not necessarily the people who actually get it) letting their guard down. We're all COVID-weary, and my guess is that a lot of people are not masking where they still should, despite it not being "required" any more.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends. I hope the cases stay mild and stop. At least they have been vaccinated and boosted, so that should help them.
