susandennisI woke up this morning with almost enough time to get to the bus to get to the pool. Even if I had to wait for the next one, why not? If my bandage gets screwed up, I have one more left and all will be fixed tomorrow anyway. So, yep. I sprang out of bed and into my suit and down to the bus which was late so I made it!!
Would have been better had I taken a peek outside or at my phone to find out about the rain but, as I've said before, hard to complain about getting wet to and from and hour under water. So no big deal.
And... I was missed!! Bag Guy (so named because he looks for my octopus bag hanging on the pool wall) was there and happy to see me. But, Mr. Amazon asked where I was last week. He said his wife came in to swim and was so disappointed I wasn't there. She's a really cute young 1st grade teacher who always had hilarious stories about her students. I haven't seen her since the Before Times. I told him I had an excused absence and to tell her to come back soon.
My swim was great but the pool water was cloudy. At least it wasn't green. Oh and Grunt Boy wasn't there! Instead a nice woman who greeted me with a lovely Good Morning! On the way out I reported the cloudy water and she said she would make sure something was done about it. Even if she doesn't, it's nice to hear her say she will. Way better than a grunt.
Oh and my stitches and bandage are fine.
One of my long time LJ friends who moved over here in March has now decided that journaling here is too much trouble and he's out. I'm sad about that. I, personally, love it here. In the grand scheme, there are actually way more things on the pro list compared to LJ than on the con, for me. I'm very grateful for Dreamwidth although, honestly, it's a stupid name. But, nits.
Biggie did not eat his breakfast today. He finally ate a little when I mushed in his treat from a tube. And he gobbled down the other treats I put into his puzzle. Wonder if he's pissed about my going to swim before I fed him. If that's the case, he needs to get over it.
He's now actively bird watching.
Swimming means I don't have to treadmill. But, not treadmilling means I need to remember to watch Jeopardy - I've already seen one tweet about the current champ. I did not read it and there is only one so I'm thinking she hasn't been defeated yet. But, I'm now two episodes behind and I need to catch up. I may do that this morning.
The COVID numbers in our county are going up steadily. This morning, everyone on the bus was wearing a mask. Then one guy without one got on and I judged - harshly. He got on and marched right over to the box with the free masks and slapped one on. I apologized profusely - in my mind. Coming home, however, the bus was more crowded and there was a dude who was totally maskless. Not only that, he wouldn't even look up from his phone to see my stink eye.
Ok, time to get going. I need to make the bed, hang my suit, go down and pick up a package and take some recycling, etc, etc, etc.
The baseball isn't til 5 so I have time for stuff.

Date: 2022-05-02 08:08 pm (UTC)Haha! My parents know I don't use LJ anymore (I kept them up to date on the whole Russian takeover), but still call people "my Livejournal friends" because it's prettier and easier to say.
One of my friends also recently gave up on DW to go back to LJ, because of the difficulty getting photos in the entries. And I know soeone else who never liked it because of the lack of a mobile app.
