New Things
May. 7th, 2022 09:16 amOk, this new computer set up is going to take some getting used to. I need to find the right placement - I already moved the table and discovered that unlike an actual battery powered laptop, when you unplug it, it turns off! Ha!!
But the screen is delicious. So much room to make stuff bigger. So easy to see. I do think I'm not a mouse person. It's been so long since I used one, I've lost all my mouse skills. I keep scrolling backwards. I have another keyboad/trackpad coming today to test. I think that's the answer but finding the right one is turning out to be a bit of an issue.
But the news this morning is from LazyBoy. Last December I ordered a recliner from them. At the time they told me it would be 9 months to a year before delivery. (COVID, supply chain, etc.) At my age, ordering something this expensive with this kind of timeline is ridiculous but ... have you met me?
About every month I get an email from them with a kind of timeless timeline. They have 5 stages - confirmed, in production, inspection, scheduled, delivered. I've been in Confirmed in every email until today. Today I'm In Production! Probably this email reflects no reality but it would be fun to get my chair before August when my guests come. I'm not holding my breath.
Last night's baseball sucked on many levels. We lost again but only by one run and in the 9th. But the major suckage was Apple +. They had three commentators - 1 old white guy who immediately dissed our stadium, 1 chipper female who may never have seen a baseball game before, and 1 former player who hates every new baseball thing. Their marching orders were obviously "pretend you are watching the game in the white guy's living room - just have fun and don't worry about the actual game". It was just horrible. I'm just going to pass the next time they do this. MLB needs a 10 year time out.
I slept long and hard and late. And it was good.
I was thinking about making a small grocery run this morning but then I realized that I have Dinnerly coming on Tuesday and tomorrow I have a baseball game (and big eat) so the freezer will feed me nicely in between. No need to go anywhere, actually. Which is fine and dandy.
My chore today is to organize the situation around this chair. I have my yarn here next to me and a bunch of other stuff that kind of accumulates - junk and non junk and it all needs to be sorted and/or moved to where it really does belong. Not a small job but that's today's assignment.
Back later. Probably with a Biggie pic. He's gone now. He has a new hiding out spot that I think is in one of the bedroom closets. He's not telling and while I could go find him, I think I'll let him have his secret. For now.

I don't know about you, but on the whole when I'm watching cricket (and even more for radio commentary) I'd quite like not to find I know more than the "experts" do!
