Burn baby burn
May. 9th, 2022 08:55 amHow wrong could I be about yesterday's game weather? Plenty, as it turns out. I did not take my sunglasses because it was cloudy with rain predicted so the roof would be closed. It was really cold on the way to the stadium and I worried about having enough clothes on.
After brunch - yes, this was delicious.

I went outside to my seat and the error of my way was revealed. The sky was blue and cloudless and the sun was blinding. Fuck. I was the only one in my section yet - I'm generally the first one there. One of the ushers came over to chat and I was bemoaning my sunglasses at home. Saturday night, was a hat giveaway and they had some left over and she went and got me one. SAVED the day. At least my face was in the shade.
I need to figure out some kind of covering for my lap, though. It just fries in the sun. A breeze would have helped. But by 3:15 we were in the glorious, wonderful, relief of the shade.
The game was a 0-0 tie til the 8th when the Rays scored one run. Then in the bottom of the 9th, the Mariners tied it. The Mariners finally won it in the bottom of the 10th. It was exhausting.
And this morning I discovered that my right hand is totally sunburned. I couldn't even get my swim glove on this morning. Ha. Ok. So next afternoon game - sunglasses and sunscreen even if it's pouring down rain.
My next game two weeks from tomorrow and the one after that is actually another Sunday afternoon game. Here's hoping for snow.
My new cart for the new computer should be here this morning and I'll put that together. And that's about it for big plans. My current crochet project is pretty all encompassing and I have a shit load of TV waiting to be watched. I've really got no reason or desire to go anywhere so I'll be right here if you need me.

Hope the sunburn works its way out soon.
