My pool is located on a peninsula connected by two bridges. The detour around (avoiding the bridges) is painfully long and clogged with traffic especially during rush hours. The bigger of the two bridges is broken. It's been closed for two years and set to reopen this summer, maybe.

Use of the other bridge is severely restricted. Emergency vehicles, buses and a few others but even severely restricted, it gets clogged very easily. It's the bridge my bus takes. This morning it was really, extraordinarily backed up but finally we made it through.

BUT now Twitter is telling me that there's a problem with that bridge and buses are taking the detour or just parked. What a fucking nightmare. A couple of the tweets are from bus riders who are stuck. Ugh. And thankgod I am home and out of it.

Someone ate all the bread in this house. So I need more. And I have an Amazon return so it's a trip to Amazon Fresh this morning.

The ballgame is an afternoon game. So that's my day all planned out.

I watched more of Julia (HBO) and now have even issues with the script. Too many of the characters are just jokes and/or tossed in like name dropping. BUT I cannot imagine not finishing it. It's weirdly compelling. The woman who plays Julia (Sara Lancashire) honestly is better at it than Meryl Streep was and I cannot believe I'm saying that. And Bebe Newirth is fabulous.

Meanwhile, someone is working on his tan.
