I got sucked into newprofilepic.com this morning. It's so easy and fun. Load up a head shot and in less than a minute you are glamorized.
I tried to get one with a big old smiley face and maybe a little more glamour. Failed. I guess what I look like is what I look like even when you smooth out the rough spots.

Yesterday, I enlarged the Seattle Mariner puffy vest that I got at a game a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to be able to zip it up so I added a couple of side panels to make it big enough to get around my generous middle. It required my serger and a lot of patience.
Threading a serger is like getting the tiniest bit of shell out of eggs you have cracked in a bowl and doing it through mesh. Four times since there are four threads. I broke one of the needles. In all I had to rethread that damn thing four times. But I got it done! When I was finished I was a bit disappointed that I heard no hallelujah chorus.
Thankfully Biggie is now old enough that he no longer feels the need to help me with every single sewing task, nor does he try to eat pins, needles, clips and anything else in the sewing room.
Biggie's actually having a different day. Usually he does not even get up before I leave for the pool. This morning, he got up when I did and demanded food which he didn't get. Breakfast is AFTER swimming. He knows that. Then after breakfast, he begs for treats in his puzzle usually 2 or 3 times and then knocks stuff over for a while and generally causes mayhem until after lunch when he's essentially out for the day. This morning he begged for the puzzle once and then curled up on the sofa and is now napping. It's a little freaky how much his routine affects mine. I'm now thinking of things it would be good to get done while he's asleep. Breaking down that big box, Resorting some closet stuff. Cleaning the toilets. hmmm this could be good. or at least productive.
It's a good day for stuff like that - getting shit done. There's no baseball today and nothing else on the agenda.
My eyes seem to be way more sensitive to light lately and particularly bright sunlight. It took a long time to recover from the sun of last Sunday's baseball game. I ordered some particularly dark wrap around sunglasses that I am going to be religious about wearing. They arrive tomorrow.
In addition to the todos on my list, I have a ton of TV waiting to be watched and crochet waiting to be hooked. I really love the luxury of being able to do what I want to do when I want to do it.

Elvis has been more attack mode today and has done that head wiggle attack multi chomp maneuver at my face and arms a few times in a not-nice way. And he's usually a huge lovey bug so I'm not sure what is up with him. He's since called down. But it was bizarre.

Date: 2022-05-12 08:48 pm (UTC)You *totally* deserved one! My mom had a 6-thread serger, and I remember one time, my grandmother was visiting, and my youngest brother, who was 2 or 3 at the time, ran past the serger, reached up and STRUMMED them like a guitar- pulling every single one out.
My grandmother was beside herself - she had a serger at home and she never let it run out of thread - and when she changed thread colour, she would tie the new colour on and run the thread through till it switched.
My mom, however, had much more practice at it (due to the aforementioned toddler) and patiently sat down and rethreaded it. But it is a Serious Job and you really do feel like someone should acknowledge your success!
