the day after
May. 17th, 2022 09:17 amWell, my genius fix to the door/air conditioner situation has a fatal flaw. I came up with a Plan B last night but this morning I think Plan C will actually work better.
I tossed a load of dirty clothes into the washer yesterday and totally forgot about them until last night. I pulled them out of the dryer just before bed and threw everything onto the day bed in the sewing room. This is generally where Biggie sleeps half the night (the other half is with me). He was on top of the pile of clean clothes this morning and didn't look mad about it.
I have a jones for some baked chicken. I may have to go out and get some. I'm also still out of tortillas.
The Diamond Club is the fancy dancy baseball ticket situation that I treat myself to every year for 20 games. Next year they are redoing the dining room and bar and even replacing the seats out on the field. I suspect/expect, the price of my 20 games is going up next year to cover this. So they are intent on 'selling' us on how great it will be.
I got an email yesterday from the sales guy. They have a special suite set up to show you what it will be like and he's like to invite me and a guest to come see the set up and a game - Monday. I already have a ticket to Tuesday's game so not the best timing but what the heck. It's free. And my friend, Frank, is generally up for baseball stuff. So I texted him to see if he'd be interested and got a fast yes. So on Monday, Frank and I will go see the game and the new Diamond Club stuff. Should be fun.
I think I'll get to work. First the door. Then the laundry. Then the chicken. At least that's the plan.

Date: 2022-05-17 05:49 pm (UTC)One doesn’t need to be a detective to connect the dots. It would be strange for a starter to not join his teammates on the road even if he wasn’t scheduled to pitch. It’s equally bizarre to be on the first and third legs of the trip, but not the second. Skipping the city where he won a Cy Young about six months prior is even more unusual.
There have been rumblings about Ray’s vaccination status dating back to last season, but the rules were different in 2021. The federal government provided professional sports leagues with a national interest exemption that allowed unvaccinated athletes to cross the border without having to quarantine. That exemption expired in January.

Date: 2022-05-17 06:28 pm (UTC)that closer came in to a fairly sure win game on Sunday and loaded the bases with two walks and a hit batter in the bottom of the 9th. we won but only barely and only when they brought in another reliever. no one - i mean no one - was sad that he can't pitch again until the weekend. again. thanks, canada!
