Now that I'm not swimming on weekends, weekends have actually turned back into weekends. Wild. I woke up this morning with exactly zero broken bits so Victory. Feeling good and good and rested.

I have a full day of boring retired stuff. I'm waiting for an Amazon delivery which promises to be here by 11. I have stinking garbage which needs to meet its dumpster. The freezer is out of control. Again. It needs a reorg and probably a bit of cull - probably I should do that before taking the garbage down.

Freezer eating - I vow to eat that damn thing empty before buying anything else. If it's not worth eating, then it's not worth the freezer real estate. As we ease into hot weather, cooking is going to be even less appealing and I will not have 'maybe' lingering around taking up space.

Hah! My across the street neighbor just came out on his balcony in a towel. Sadly the leaves obscured a good view but still. Go, Neighbor!! He came out to check on the noise. They are doing some kind of run out there starting from the stadium and there is a drum and bugle band sending them off. I can't see from here (leaves) but it sounds like fun.

The baseball game is at 1 p today.

My friend and I went to the gym, not the pool, yesterday. I lifted. She rode the recumbent bike. She hasn't been exercising but she rode that bike for 90 minutes.

I'm glad the swimming has helped the broken bits.

oh yeah. i live just on the edge of downtown in the historic part of town that also is home to two stadiums that are used by male and female professional soccer, NFL and MBA. We got action most of the time :) it's great fun.

Our freezer tends to be stuffed with frozen fruit and vegetables, which only get used if I'm in the mood to cook, and don't have anything similar fresh. Unfortunately(?) that's another way of saying "very rarely". The just-nuke-and-eat dinners get used fast, though not as fast as when I was still working, and now that I'm retired the meat gets used at a reasonable rate.

I hear you! I keep making that vow, making a bit of progress, and then finding a Great Deal on Something - and filling it back up.

But I need to get control back and shop from my freezer (and pantry) and *not* from the store - regardless of the great deals I find :D

I just went through the entire thing. I kept ONLY that which I will absolutely eat in the next two weeks. Everything else got tossed. I now need to stay on top of it. (Also did the fridge. That cheese spread with the 9/22 'use by' date? gone.)

I've failed at this so many times. But not this one.

I want a neighbor who wears only a towel!

Today is cooking, freezing, and replenishing my freezer stock. I like having fake "TV dinners" when it's too hot to cook. Which this is not - I'm taking advantage of the cold weather to get all this cooking and baking done.
